I teach at a police academy, and one of Lauren's family members was graduating. She showed up, along with other family members, dressed normally, walked in, sat, and watched proudly as her step-brother graduated. She made it all about him, and his accomplishment, never about her. I've seen people with not a tenth the talent, or success, being demanding as toddlers. If I wouldn't have recognized her as she walked in, I would have never known she was "famous". It may not seem like a lot, but I found it remarkably impressive.

I heard this being performed live in CA and thought it was strange that Adele would be performing free and outdoors. I was shocked to then see it was not Adele but in fact this lovely lady, who speaks with a strong Louisiana accent. From that performance I used her song Hold On To Me at my wedding.

Angelina is good but her version just doesn’t hit the same way. Good grief the lyrics…how beautiful. The truth in this just gives you chills. Yeah, Kim, 'christian' music used to praise and worship God exclusively, nowadays there is more an evil presence and a selfish perspective in most lyrics of way too many Christian songs. You simply must do your homework and check if the message/lyrics are theologically sound. This song, obviously, is authentic. But a heck of a lot of stuff on AirOne and KLOVE is junk. Why do I say that? Because Satan (in the form of industry execs) has infiltrated the very heart of the Christian music industry. And, quite frankly, if an artist accepts an award ( a gold statue to place on their shelf) on tv in front of bazillions of onlookers, then they have spit in Christ's face. Remember John the Baptist? "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30) NO CHRISTIAN has the right to get up and make a name for themselves. EVERYTHING we do must shine the light of Christ. If these folks accept the awards/rewards, even if giving thanks and praise to God, they are taking that golden idol home and putting on their shelves where the eyes of Satan stare at them all day and night, weakening their resolve. Too extreme, you say? Best go read what Jesus Himself says in all of His own commentary during His three yeas of ministry. Start with Matthew 19:21 - Christ told the man (who thought he was so good, keeping all the commandments since youth), He told the man to sell ALL ------- ALL of his possessions and then, give up everything and walk and follow Him. Everything. Further, Christ said, If you love your mother or father or children more than me, you are NOT worthy of me. He who tried to save his own life will lose it. But he/she who gives up everything for HIS sake, will find his/her life. Your job and mine, Kim, is not to be here and provide two-second sound bites and smiles, but instead, our job is to bring people to Christ, and to correct people when they have erred. So do Christ a favor, start getting into the habit of teaching people with your comments. Doesn't it say, that as we have opportunity we should do good to all, especially those within the household of faith? (Galatians 6:10). Being in too much of a hurry to give substantive commentary and only nodding your head and smiling, is an insult to Christ. He who knows to do good and does not do it, to him (her) it IS sin. (James 4:17) Please. Please. Please...Kim. Do your job. WORK for Christ. There are no vacations. No accolades. No wealth or fame or comfort. As we have opportunity............24/7/365.......we are to do our best to bring people to the knowledge of Christ and the cross as well as admonishing those believers who are slack and lack. Including your self. And my self. We should never EVER rest on our laurels. Isn't that what the five 'foolish' virgins did? (Matthew 25). They got lazy. And then they were sent away when the bridegroom opened the door after the five left the scene of His return to go and refill their oil jars. The lamps, the Light of Christ, is a consumable. You have to USE it up otherwise you are not doing your job. And that means you need to refill the oil jars regularly. a) use it - that's work. That's going out and sharing the gospel, etc. b) refilling - that's going to scripture and reading daily..as stated in Romans, the renewing or your mind...........daily. Love ya, kid. I have a few albums of her music, and while the messages of her songs don't resonate with me, her voice, music and style do. I love her voice and enjoy listening to her regularly. She may be in Christian music, but this song bought her to my and others attention outside of the religious world

Hey I'm a military veteran Christian for 35 years I live in South Carolina 47 years old suffering with the pancreatic disability but I blessed by God everyday I would just like to say that I pray for you guys and as long as you stick to the Bible and not man's word that's the biggest thing God said in the Bible that many will be deceived because they don't know the word of God that's the only way we know what is right as Christians there's so many false Christians God said in the Bible that in the end times the church will fall away right now it's bad in the church a lot of hypocrisy a lot of false preachers as the Bible says wolves and sheep's clothing so God bless there's some groups I'd like to tell you that have really been a blessing to me cuz they're biblical and they're amazing songwriters just like Lauren Shane and Shane one of my favorite also Corey Ashbury Kari jobe some really on my favorites and it's hard to find really good Christian music

I Won't Let You Go is a beautifully written song about unconditional love, versions released with and without Lauren, off the Where the Light Shines Through album. Sam's mom will definitely love it. One thing about her song's is that she does usually does not mention Jesus or God so people that are not Christian do not know this is a Christian song. It even crossed over into other markets because of this. People should know a song is about Jesus when they listen to it and not question it.
