Ren is a master of making reactors into liars in the best way. “I’m not going to be pausing much” - involuntarily pauses to comment on powerful moments. “I’m going to pause and talk, deal with it” - enraptured and completely forgets to pause for minutes at a time.

I believe Ren has and is doing something truly amazing. I cannot think of anyone who is more deserving of having his or her music appreciated by the world. With the money game he gave us a small example of how collectively we can make a change. Let’s use this collective approach to ensure that the world is impacted! I encourage each and every person that has liked..appreciated…been inspired by or gone down that Ren Rabbit hole to push his album every single moment you can. COPY AND PASTE LINKS TO HIS ALBUM AND HIS STORY EVERYWHERE UNTIL ITS SATURATED. LETS SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE CAN DO IN SUPPORT OF REN. COLLECTIVELY!

Hi Fil!!!!!!! Ren has left us all reflecting... It is rare to find artists today who talk about such profound topics. I can't stop thinking about the reality of my country (we are worse than ever, in a few days there are presidential elections and all the candidates are horrible), about the reality of the world (thousands are being killed at this very moment for things like religion and money, it's crazy). I have so many things on my mind... I really look forward to the day we wake up and stop being sheep.

Yes, he is on that side of human spectrum. You really should do Money game 1 (official video) and Money game 2 (lyric video). I think you'd like those too. Kind of gives the perspective of the whole idea growing in his head in time... in lyrics, in music and in meaning. Great reaction, Fil, thank you!

Loved your reaction to this masterpiece. I just wanted to add on to your thoughts on utopias, i agree with everything you said. I think Ren would too. He's talked about this in interviews, that he doesn't think utopias are necessarily possible but in working towards them we can move the needle closer than where it is now. He also said in his Million Subscribers Video to 'tread carefully, because one person's vision of heaven could be another's image of hell". It's a tricky subject and one it sounds like he's still wrestling with, but wanted to share what he's said along those lines.

Always get a top notch reaction from you to a Ren song! Your comments about how to bring utopias to the world are fair as we may never be able to get consensus across cultures, religions, countries, etc etc, but as a species we have achieved many things (both good and bad), so whats to say that goal cannot be achieved? Anyway this is a powerful song sung from the heart of a great artist, along with the videographer sam and the whole team they have made something that at least equals Hi Ren and in 3days has over 1 million views (the first time ren has achieved the million in less than a week), and the Sick Boi album currently looking to chart at #1 or #2 in uk and at #1 on the itunes charts in various countries he is proving that an independent artist can mix it with the corrupt music industry and WIN!!!

if its not possible to reach an utopia, I still think that going towards it and getting close is the right way to go. Its a statement like, you cant reach light speed.. sure, but getting close is still very very very fast.
@MalcolmMXTaylor
@MalcolmMXTaylor Жыл бұрын
@@larka742 yeah I agree, but for the last few days since this release I've been trying to think of HOW to even start to try and unwind ourselves from the current reality to then build towards something that's even halfway to that utopia....and I've not come up with anything that doesn't start without a massive collapse of society (that could have been what happened with the ancient Egyptians and the pyramids or even what's under Antarctica that we've not been able to piece together...in other words maybe we have already tried this and made the same mistakes again...), but that near apocalypse doesn't sound too appealing...

23:19 well spoken. The problem is even bigger than that, though. Every individual human has their own ideas of what Utopia looks like we tribalize and collect ourselves with those who think like we think, but even with in those groups, you will find that there are some things that one man will find disgusting that another man does not or woman. You learn this when you move in with with your spouse for the first time and they have a habit that disgusts you, but it doesn’t disgusts them and then you’ll have a habit that disgusts them but it doesn’t disgust you. That is very pedestrian simple example but it scales up. And you’re absolutely right it takes an extreme amount of tyranny to enforce that type of thing even over a small country. And the worst thing is the one who is strong enough and coercive enough to talk a large enough group into buying what they’re selling is generally the last person that you would want in that position. Because they’re either a silver tongue, the devil or so violent and moody, that everyone around them is afraid. And the worst thing is they are 100% sure that their way is the way. And they generally have not integrated their shadow which means they’re going to have a clear conscious about everything they’re about to do because it is for the greater good. However, he’s not wrong about the fact that we position money too high on our list of priorities, for the love of money is the root of all evil.

Such is the truth in the beauty. 45 ... the number of "mine mine gimme" in the US.... our 45 embarrassment. But yeah, Jimmy had so many chances to take a different path and help the world, but he constantly chose the greedy path. Trying to get his daddy's approval and then his dad died with no closure to that constant seeking. So he was stuck on that path forever grasping for that unattainable goal... spinning out until the life changing injury showed him the truth. Five years of brooding on his wasted life, following the "code" of the "land of the free" and all it got him was a lot of things. Lonely empty things and nothing but a broken body. Then He pressed the trigger. Our way of living, grasping for power and money (that isn't even real it's all a construct of our own device) and trying to grab everything we can get, whether we need it or not, always stepping on ppl just to get the biggest piece of the pie... even when we aren't hungry. It's suicide in the end. Humanity could be beautiful. We could be a community, working living in a harmonious environment. But we choose parasitic suicide. And maybe we don't deserve to survive. We keep choosing dystopia over utopia. We keep effing it all up! We need to change. Figure out where our societal path diverted and fix it. Else I'm afraid, like he said, humanity will consume itself to death. Ren is a genius and i hope ppl hear what he's saying and take it to heart. If we can wake ppl up we can teach our kids to be better and think for themselves. To work for each other and guide each other to eventually work as a whole instead of a lot of narcissistic greedy individuals maybe one day we'll have more ppl like Ren and less greedy. There will always be ppl who only think for themselves, but we need to rebalance the world to where there are more of the community and less of the greedy. Right now we've got it the wrong way up. We have more greed than community and that will be our end. Great reaction! 🌻

21:38 I hear you, but I think what Ren means by use their brains is something that you don't learn in ivy league schooling...He's talking about knowing what's unto life, in accordance with the good of our and other people's human nature, and being cognizant of reality and how to genuinely selflessly serve the good of it for our fellow man. Such brain users would come to see their own identity as social creatures whose dignity is based on the reality that they are rightfully happy when they are aligned with their actual potential as a gift of a social creature that's living for the love and good of their fellow man in this life. Genius, as you rightly say, is not enough... reigning in human nature to align with the good that's in it is the sort of thing we should be using our brains for and that is what Ren means here. Practically, we can only do this on an individual basis... in our own selves... and the more persons that do so or are open to, I imagine the better prospect for any good to happen at all in as much as it can

Fab, insightful reaction as always Fil! When I first watched Money Game Part 3, I instantly thought of Akala! I think Ren is a great mix of Tyler Joseph and Akala! His writing can be very similar to both - he leans into many ‘Orwellian’ themes, as Tyler also does and then a lot of government/money/corruption themes like Akala. Ren even did the whole online treasure hunt and solving various clues, using collective intelligence etc like Tøp did leading up to the LOC/ SAI era! It’s brilliant having another artist dropping amazing music, while I wait on the next tøp album!

I really think he is speaking to the lack of critical thinking skills when he says use their brains. We have discussed this multitudes of times over the last 20 years - without those skills, people remain sheep. I see it everyday. Idiocracy is becoming real. Seeing you animated and the excitement hit you as thoughts are sparked by Rens performance is exactly the purpose of this Art. To spark thoughtfulness about the situation, discussion between people, and maybe some better choices people might make in raising their children in the future; to be more careful about teaching critical thinking skills and make them less likely to value the money game and it's trappings. Just Genius.

Needs, wants and greed has been the decline of humanity. I get closer and closer to my "end of days" and I think I am glad that I will no longer be around when everything has collapsed completely. I kept wondering what will I be missing when people finally "get it"? I don't think I have to wonder anymore. There are still way too many humans that are just greedy. Just like Jimmy's father in this case. Where is the pride in Jimmy by his father with all he accomplished. After the good stuff Jimmy went off the rails and daddy dismisses him and I believe thinks him a loser. I think I know someone like that, selling lies seems more profitable for greedy and green hungry individuals.

Utopia is a God. If God is the ideal we should aspire to, whatever that ideal might be, then Utopia is also the ideal we should chase. But in the same way as when Man sought to build a tower to the heavens to attain godhood, but found only division and misunderstanding, seeking Utopia shines a light on the same divides.
