Let me start off by saying he did start at 1 it was such a long reaction that I forgot😂. Also I love that I might not have this exactly right so that I can come to the comments and see what people think! I only listened to this once and haven’t been able to go back because I shot this at 1:30 am and put it out at 3am lol. Thank you so much for your comments and for watching. What a masterpiece of a song and video! #MuchLove

Absolutely man, Ren is an artist doing the game like nobody else and his music always brings up different perspectives and conversations. I’d probably see it differently watching it at 1.30am too 😂 loving watching your appreciation for his work though bro. I remember your reactions to all the Led Zep stuff when that other dude showed you the whole catalogue (probs my favourite band of all time). So I know you have top quality musical taste and experience when seeing your reactions now. Just glad you’ve found Ren to enjoy with us all 👊

His father didn't try to get him to go the right way. He taught him money is all that matters and you should take all you can. He instilled greed in him. Greed for money but also greed for approval. Nothing Jimmy did was good enough. Everytime he felt he was succeeding, his father moved the target. At the end he's questioning the choices he made. Lamborghini for lives, trading money for souls. He did those things. Now at the end of his life he's realizing that none of it was worth the cost.

I see this as Jimmy could never please his father despite doing everything he could. Once his father died, Jimmy realized he could never get his father’s approval and spiraled into self-destruction. I love how Ren subtly tied all the songs together. Great reaction ❤

Jimmy was messed up. From birth he was taught only that money and materialism ruled. His father never showed love, was never satisfied with what his son achieved. He was continuously put down until his life spiralled out of control. He had no checks and balances and he ended up destryoying himself. Ren the master story teller did it again. Massive repect to the production crew, sound lighting the whole works.

I find your perspective fascinating. I like hearing what others get out of a work of art. We all bring ourselves into our interpretation. You may get backlash but it's important that we hear what everyone has to say. I hear this as being about how the worship of money and greed impact our lives, and asking us to find another way. Don't teach your children that momey is the ultimate goal in life. The sole pursuit of money is destroying our world and lives. There is another way.

It somehow bothers me that a lot of reactors say Jimmy is doing okay and being successful until the call. No. It's not okay to teach our kids that life is all about money. As Ren said, is an exaggerated version of society but this is reality. And if we do not recognize that in the early stages then we definitely are doomed.

But that's exactly why this piece of art is important. We have entire generations who have been taught from early age to pursue money and material things. It's not the fault of those people how they've been brought up but now Ren is hopefully making people question their outlook on money and life. Hopefully those who hear Ren's message will teach their children and close ones differently.

Money is evil and I guess that’s what I was trying to say. We do have to work hard to get to a certain spot in life but not to the point that we overdue it or we put money over everything. I really would like to apologize to you if my comment felt like criticism towards you. It wasn't, or at least it was not my intention. I love your reactions and you seem to be a good kid with your head and heart in a good place. I just was (negatively) surprised to see that a lot of people did not catch the “evil” life path of Jimmy until his dad died. A lot of reactors (not just you) seemed to find that a normal life until then. It made me sad a bit. I guess @Dsdnv is right, this is what makes this piece of art even more important. So, if it was criticism, then it was meant toward society. Sorry it landed on your channel 🙈

This hits hard. I always tried to be at the top of every company I worked for and ended up in corporate makinging a shed tonne of money, presenting strategies and revenue forecasts for the BOard of Directors of a massive company. And then last November I had a stroke due to the stress. I was 43 at the time. I forgot how to walk, use the stairs, read, properly, had no sense of balance, had double vision, etc. for months. I had to teach myself how to walk again and I still struggle. Thinking about going to a shop terrifies me because at any moment I could fall over and make a scene. My girlfiend of 6 years left me as well. My confidence and self-worth used to be through the ceiling. Now I'm just a depressed 44 year old, barely a husk of my former self that is completely homebound that requires my housemate and neighbours to help get groceries for me and take the bins out. It's getting better though but it's a sruggle everyday. It's been a messed up year to say the least and has put a lot into perpective. It just take a moment to completely change your life.

I've never cared much for money. Don't get me wrong I appreciate and likes nice things but at what cost? Only now are we beginning to see what greed and the pursuit of money WILL cost ALL human souls. I've always put more weight on how people treat me, how the little things that they do in my life can become worth more than gold. I appreciate human beings for their soul not for what they can hand me in Little bits of paper in the palm of my hand❤

He said he honestly doesn't give a damn about money or fame. I’m not sure you really got it my friend. The point is from day one he was taught to be greedy. His father told him money was the means to ALL ends! Maybe in America that’s what you teach your children in a capitalist system. But mate - money is the root of all evil and we only use it as a tool because we have to, but family, connections to people and your environment are far more important. Life is so short and the worshipping of money will only make it shorter. Where’s the love in his story? Where’s the life?

. My interpretation was that the guy in the beginning comes in to piano which to me showed like a someone else comes and takes your place in the cycle. When Ren took off his hostage hood and looks in the mirror to me a mirror represents self reflection and being honest with oneself. Than the boy named jimmy to me i thought was a boy on the opposite side of the tracks from screech(james) growing up in wealth, screech growing up in poverty. The song reflecting on Jimmy's life one of his first memories and there after was the expectations his father and society put on him. The people with all the bags on their head to me were hostages everyone was a hostage to the money game everyone working, cartels, symphony like his servents Ren was the only one at that point with no hood on which to me represented thar he was the only one being honest and reflecting about his part in the money game a d acknowledging it. He is climbing the ladder and gets as high as he can without breaking the law and the hunger for more more more. We have been warned by philosophers for years about what's happening. They say that everyone one earth has natural needs and all natural needs can be filled if your hungry you eat and that's fulfilled if your cold you get warmth and that's fulfilled. UT power, politics, money etc is made from our ideas and designs and bc of that you can never fill that void it's impossible and you do everything you can in life hurting others, self sabotaging your own life there is no line at what cost you will do. Ok that's all.sorry so long winded.

I agree with 90% of the comments before mine, so far, although I haven't read all of them. I try not to form an opinion of the reactors, they have their own opinions by what they heard the first time, that's why I watch reactors, what do they hear and feel and get out of the music? Thanks for reacting. I honestly know that mental sharpness declines the longer you are awake, especially as you approach the early morning…. You may want to reserve reactions until you are rested, especially with Ren, lol. There’s so much you can miss if you’re not on top of your game. I think you missed the mark, and the message of this piece. Mostly because of being tired, and partly because you, too, are trapped in the money game… your reaction to “listen here, son, a man works for what he wants” is mired in the mindset of competition vs. cooperation, which is the sin of greed (you immediately pointed out a competition between the industrious vs. the lazy - thinking that the message of working for what you want is “good,” when it’s actually the root of the money game…. ). Ren is trying to show that the mindset of greed (“the world don’t care about you son, take all that you can”) is what led Jimmy down the path of self destruction. (FWIW, I’m 56, and I know that I have been involved in the “money game” my entire life. I caught an inkling in my 30s, and then as I grew older realized I was entrenched - but the game requires that you continue to work. I was fortunate that my career field is one that I enjoy. Now that I am reaching retirement age, and I have a granddaughter that is 2, I see the money game laid out for her… Anyway, we all bring our own perspective to interpretations - but when you’re fresh, go back and watch this again. I think you’ll have an “Aha!” Moment. Also, watch parts I and II to really get the message. Cheers. And I sincerely hope that you can find a job/career as we live our lives in this money game that you can enjoy going to work and the people there, and perhaps the mission.

The only thing ren gets wrong in this trilogy is the idea of the collective being more important than the individual. Individuals make up a collective and you can't cookie cutter add a fix to a group of people. Individuals need to better themselves and that spreads to the collective. It all starts from you, clean your room before you try to better the world. But it's cool I get the ideolistic youth. I also love star trek and hope for utopia but it won't ever be possible so long as greed exists so for the time being, the best solution is the libertarian perspective. The focus on the individual is paramount. Socialism is absolutely dangerous period.

This is a deep piece. How you see it and how you interpret it is your vision. Just because I may take something different away than you did does not make either of us wrong. Thank you for staying up late to take this reaction on. Looking forward to your feelings about the rest of the album.

No man you got it twisted. He felt he was never good enough for his father. No matter what he did, his dad was saying you need more.

You didnt6 get this at all, his father was the demon, nothing he ever did was good enough, so he kept going to make him proud it never came and after his dad died he went off the rails big time.

I did not grow up this way. I guess I was trying to convey how the world looks at things as far as money. At some point you do have to grow up and work hard to get things but money is not everything. You can’t get spoon fed but also do let the money control your life. Love this video! Thanks for watching 🤘🏾

I may just have a bad case of derangement syndrome, but i feel there were references to Trump throught the song. The cold, controlling father, #45, the red tie, learning to lie effectively, the prostitute, and i think there's more but I'm baked. Im not saying he's Jimmy, the differences are vast, but i think Ren was aware he made those connections. Seriously, tell me if you think i have TDS. 🤣

It’s natural to try and decipher “who is he talking about?” but Ren has so deliberately addressed here, in other songs (Pt 1 & 2) and in interviews that this is an “us” problem. The minute this song becomes a political debate it’s lost it’s meaning.
@snakelite61
@snakelite61 11 ай бұрын
@@Calmontheoutside I don't think it's a political debate and politics are just another human construct like money, borders, etc., but I still feel the references were purposeful and served to illustrate the game and how it's played.

@@snakelite61You’re right-I see references too. Bill Gates, teenage “influencers”, etc. But I also hear millions of families whose names we never know driven by having kids who read in preschool and on and on. The titans of industry are an obvious problem and target but if we don’t look at ourselves we’re missing our role in the problem. I guess what I should have said is I HOPE the discussion doesn’t get political because it stilts the talking.

Are you having a fuckin' laugh? @DRichOffical is a reactor! He reacts to music videos! He stops the video so he can react! Which means he gives his opinion on the video! I think you've got confused with what a reaction channel does and what an artists channel does! One reacts to the song and the other doesn't! Di*ck'ed. 😂
