Brilliant brilliant! Congrats to all from the client to the architects, engineers, designers to the craftsmen on site on a well executed, conscious restoration. Also a great piece of film production, thanks for sharing

Thank you Patrick, for watching and for your comment. This video would not have been possible without the insight from those in the industry, and those who worked on the restoration of this hotel. It was an incredible journey for us making this video, telling the story and preserving the history!

I loved seeing this. I lived in the Winchester Mansions with my father for a short time around 1956 when I was quite young - our small apartment was number 31. I am so happy to see that it is still operating and looking more lovely than ever. I no longer live South Africa, so this is very nostalgic for me. The old photos really bring back memories. I remember a large cage with budgies in the courtyard.

What amazing memories Karin ❤️ and thank you for sharing it with us! If you ever visit Cape Town again you should hop over to the Winchester Mansions for a high tea or something, and relive those memories.

Very nice segment. History of a hotel really does make them unique. Especially those old school photos in the lobby area.

All the images you see were curated from amazing Cape Town photographers over decades. In addition, all the old Winchester Mansions photos were taken from what's called the Green Folder. Those are all the scanned images you see of rooms and brides.
