Yeah most of us no longer accept rides going *to* LAX now because it's no longer profitable to pick up passengers *from* LAX. If I take a passenger to LAX, once I drop them off I have two options: (1) I can go to the waiting lot, which takes approximately 45 minutes or more to get a passenger; or (2) leave the airport and hope to catch a ride nearby. If I choose (1), any profit I could have made is more than offset by the wait time, so it's a net loss; If I choose (2), I'm just riding around Inglewood, which is a shithole that almost never provides quality fares. So at this point, the only drivers who are doing drop-offs/pick-ups to/from LAX are either ones who live nearby, are new/inexperienced, or have very poor judgement (not someone I'd feel safe riding in a car with).

It take the drivers at least 1 hour where the passenger are at and they dont get paid for those time. Solutions: drivers need to turn off their app after drop off at LaX , it's not worth the rematch. US airport associates are trying to make Uber/Lyft as worse as city transit system. So, the completion is fair enough

I've been to LA once and I'd rather much visit than live there! I like my one story rambler house,it's all I'll ever need

Why not get the ride before you get there

And if you live close to the airport and take a cab the driver gets pissed.

not so much anymore - cab drivers HATE what UBER and LYFT have done

I accidentally took the Hilton Shuttle bus thinking it was going to take me to Hilton Universal. 😆 It just took me to the Hilton that was close by the airport. Then I took a Lyft from there which was cheaper and I only waited 7 mins. So I recommend you take shuttle hotel and then take a ride share. Faster and cheaper.

Take a shuttle to a hotel nearby then hail an uber from there. Problem solved.

Business killer.. you want all those ppl waiting for a ride near the services already paying rent in the airport .. not walking/shuttling away and lining up .. thats around 30 min of lost opportunity plus 30 min of extra work for customers!

IF YOU DIDNT WANT WAIT IN THAT BIG LINE JUST ORDER UBER BLACK OR UBER SUV THE DRIVER WOULD PICK YOU UP RIGHT THERE ON THE CURB

Ok I see the problems here, instead of people Getting their rides from a long curb line, they have to go to a small opening to wait for their ride and all the uber/lyft cars also have to wait to get to that small opening! But the cars can't match with the correct rider at exactly the right time so that creates chaos! What they need to do is widened the pick up curb line so people and their rides can meet up and paired up!

This will go away once the people mover goes into service.

I like to see one of LAX-It videos show it from a drivers view point of what drivers had to endure at a lot that takes an hour just reach the terminal and then another 45 minutes to leave the terminal after trying to find a rider who says they are at letter E but decided walk to D to try and find the driver. Remember... not long ago when TNC didn’t exit, people had to take shuttles to hotels and car rentals and then wait in lines to check in or get keys to a car. It’s no different.

Whoever thought of this idea should be fired. What they should have done is make parts of the parking garages the Uber pickup.
@GodsAwayOnBusiness875 жыл бұрын
And what if they are already having issues with enough space in the garage? Which is the reason I assume they moved the pick-up lot further away, too much traffic.

Many Uber and Lyft drives stoped driving because of low pay and companies sometimes take up %50 of what pax pay
@RevMarket5 жыл бұрын
@Chosen One Watch any of the ride share driver videos about how Uber an Lyft cheat you as a customer. They charge you more fir your ride. Then pay less than 75% to the driver. Sometimes 40%. You should just pay miles and minutes and base fare. Not the exuberant service fee that changes at the unknown algorithm of the computer. Share you screen shot of your fee with your driver and you will see the difference. Better to request your ride with no destination entered. Then give driver destination when he starts ride. The unfront price is not being honest with you.

Lyft takes 60% actually. I am refusing all rides from LAX until they make more changes.
@RevMarket5 жыл бұрын
Robert Owens I have had them take 70% several times.

Uber and Lyft have been a challenge for drivers to earn a decent living - but they also wrecked the taxi business too - but the taxi commissions are crooks with outrageous, criminal prices to get a medallion -

This is a good thing..... makes less people come to this already overly-congested city..... My favorite part of the year is thanksgiving, when everyone goes back to the eastcoast to their families and city is dead..... Me and my glass of wine living in the good old Venice that I know
