Thank you all so much for watching! In this video I went out offshore fishing three days in a row and this was kinda a compilation of all that fishing and what was caught! The main goal was to help my home town friend Josh catch his first Mahi-Mahi. We found them but had some missed opportunities and the fish were finicky so fortunately I caught only 1. Which is better than none. Also at least the Blackfin tuna were biting!

Another good video. Small tip for bait well. Use raw water wash down and leave the nozzle open instead of the buckets.

Hey Peter, yeah we were going to do that but Taylor said his wash down pump is the same that pumps to the livewell 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t know his boat and he told me that. I have two separate pumps for my boat.

ADVISE REQUESTED (QUESTION) I fish from a Seadoo Fish Pro Trophy. I was wondering how far down and around (circumference) that the sound of the engine running affects the fish? I see people leaving the engine on and fishing really deep with no problems, but does this preclude you from inshore fishing?

Great show. Love the channel, but even if I didn't know much about fishing, I wouldn't be too chuffed is someone hooked the fish for me and then passed me the rod to bring it in. I wouldn't really feel that I'd caught it.

Three different boats in the video. In the beginning it was my buddies 21 Tidewater, then I was fishing on a 35 sportsman, and my boat is a 24ft Fishmaster.

Thanks for your opinion. But I’ve taken hundreds of people fishing from when I was a mate for ten years and a Captain now running charters. Generally the #1 reason a fish gets off when using bait and a circle hook is a novice angler try’s to set the hook. Which Josh did. Also I tweak the drag all the time when fish are on the hook. I do it when I’m fighting a fish and when others are. Also when friends or customers tighten the drag when they should have left it alone then I put back to the proper tension. I fish day in and day out so it’s not my first rodeo like I rolled out of bed and decided to go out fishing and teach my friend to fish. Whatever the reason is the fish got away and to fight another day. Tight Lines and I hope you are catching fish.

Rich, I completely disagree with Protos33. You were doing what I would do with an inexperienced angler. You were trying to help him catch as many fish as possible. Heck I'd expect am want you to do the same with me on your boat. Always something to be learned from your copious amount of time on the water. Tight lines my friend. Great content.

Yeah you are right. I want them to catch so bad and it gets to me when a simple mistake is made that causes the fish to get away. Especially when I know in the back of my head that might be their last shot. I’ve taught Josh on many occasions to fish with live bait but he’s still learning.

Hes not being bossy. Josh is farming every mahi that even touches his line. Rich hooks every single one. Simply put rich knows better and wants his homie to catch his first mahi. I have been there. Theres no way to get someone to do exactly as you need him to do with out sounding bossy

Yeah, you are right. I was trying to coach him what to do. Have you ever played sports..? Growing up my soccer, and track coaches may have seemed bossy yelling at me when to make the pass or to start my hard kick to the finish line. But they just wanted me or the team to succeed. That’s all I wanted for Josh. He doesn’t have much offshore fishing experience and he’s been dying to catch his first mahi. It has been a SAGA to help him get his first one. Last year two offshore trips in a row we didn’t even see a single mahi. This year we were fortunate to have two beautiful days in a row to get offshore again and actually find the fish he wanted and he was sooooo close!!! Also there’s a lot that goes into it. Hundreds of dollars in fuel, $60 per day for live bait, prepping the boat, rigging every rod, and loading up on ice. If we had all week and unlimited money. I would be more chill about it. I really wanted to help him catch his first ever mahi-mahi and he only had those two days to fish. He got the chances and I failed as a coach/Capt.

@@FishAholicTV I think being a charter capt would be super tough. There is this expectation that because you are a professional that you can somehow turn everyone else into a professional. It doesn't work like that. Josh will have his day! Still was a good day with some exciting action.
