Oh, wow! What a nice person Frances is. And she's so conscientious, so careful and thinking, so responsible. She's definitely going to be a very good driver. It was kind of heartbreaking to see her dismay, but it's so relatable -- all repeated mistakes make us doubt ourselves. But there's no reason for that: a mistake is a mistake, doesn't matter all that much if it's fresh or repeated. (Apparently, something was neglected in the debrief after her previous test if Frances thought she had to try switching the lanes almost at all costs.) Mistakes happen to everyone, also to the experienced drivers. You can definitely do it next time, Frances!

That roundabout where Francess stopped seems to trip up a lot of learners in your videos! I think they get concerned about moving off as it's a hill start if they need to stop. I love these videos as situations like this are great to learn from, especially scenarios where there's a lot to think about that becomes second nature with practise.

​@@ClearviewDrivingYes on second view I can see she did a quick look to the left before emerging but only looked right when she had entered the road. Also approach speed is far too quick for a junction like that. I think the junction being clear shouldn't negate the fault either; that could have been very serious as I think you were caught out by the speed of the approach as well (the gasp of air). Anyway, she can definitely learn from that and that's the main point of doing these tests.

Your videos have been super super helpful!! Learnt a lot from them. Passed yesterday thank God, first try, 3 minors. Now just watching these for entertainment. Advice for test- even if you think you’ve failed keep going. If the examiner says “have you finished with your manoeuvre” take that as “are you sure you’re done because I don’t think you are” they are trying to help. Don’t let experienced drives put pressure on you either.

A lot of that was good Francess, some of it was a bit ropy but a good Instructor (Like Aman) will soon get you doing all the correct things. Roundabouts are scary when you're learning, but you get the hang of them. I'll let you into a secret, I've been driving since Nineteen Oatcake and they sometimes scare me!! Good Luck for your next mock test, and if we don't see you before I hope your big Test goes well for you.

Just wanted to point out how amazing I think you are as an instructor. Personally I didn't like the instructor I had. He was very harsh in my opinion, and whenever I did something wrong he'd talk in a way that just made me feel even worse about it. I've been going out with my dad on drives, and they've not been too bad, got a bit stressed today though cause I stalled a few times 😓. On the lookout for a new instructor, wish I could have you lol. Thanks though for your videos, they are entertaining and educational too. P.S I really like how patient you are with your students, if they make a mistake you don't grow angry or impatient, you calmly talk them through it. Very kind

Poor Francis. I had trouble on roundabouts when I was learning to drive (and still do on occasions, it’s definitely my weakness). She will smash her actual test I’m sure, she just needs to tidy things up a bit.

26:18 Is this correct on the roundabout where she got a serious? Left lane with no markings can carry on up to 12 o'clock but surely that's only where there's two entrance lanes to the roundabout (not 3, as here) otherwise what's the point of the middle lane as you shouldn't be using middle lane to continue past 12 o'clock (unless the markings say otherwise) as would be the case if you followed Aman's advice and joined lane 3 of the roundabout from the middle lane as it would take you right toward A205? Although granted none of the cars do this, in this case I believe the lanes on the entrance to the roundabout should correspond with the lanes on the roundabout itself, so lane 1 is left for first exit only (as it joins the first lane on the roundabout), lane 2 is second lane to A4 (so the second exit) and lane 3 is third or fourth lane (taking you right to A205, A4 West or a u-turn back on yourself).

Will you teach your learners' to look under a lorry and give a wider berth when overtaking a parked large lorry, in case a pedestrian pops out? I could see the person walking out in front of it. I enjoyed the route and know it well from cycling all over it. A lorry will sometimes take two lanes to deliberately give it space to make a manouvere and to stop people cutting in. From Ravenscourt Park, right into King Street, right into Ravenscourt Park (past a friend's old house), left into Ravenscourt Gardens (a good cycle route I use), right into Goldhawk Road, left into Stamford Brook Road, past the 94 bus stop, left into Stamford Brook Avenue, right into South Side, right into Prebend Gardens, left into Bath Road, right into The Avenue and left into Bath Road. Great news that Fisher's Lane is closed to motor traffic. Right into Acton Lane (by the petrol station), then Antrobus Road. Out by Chiswick Park Station and right into Chiswick High Road (passing the old Institute of Advanced Motoring Offices), turning right into Power Road, and out onto the A406 to Chiswick Roundabout. Then onto the A4 towards Hammersmith and left into Rivercourt Road where the debrief takes place.

I feel the instructor should have said ‘Thankyou drive on’ after she had reached the two car lengths as most examiner would do this. Instead this instructor waited for her to make a mistake before she said Thankyou which wasn’t very nice. Just my opinion

0:03 I would have slowed down here or even stopped perhaps as it was hard to tell what was going to happen. I am always not sure how to react to these situations as a couple weeks ago I had to stop on a mini roundabout as this same thing happened and did not think they would stop but then it is that what if someone crashed in from behind? Hard situation to know what to do really. But I would check centre mirror and plan to slow down and stop would be my main focus
