After seven years as head coach, do you think Eddie Jones left England in a better place? Keen for your thoughts.
@joek360

It’s not the responsibility of the head coach to leave it in a better place, that’s the RFUs job. Head coach is there to win matches and trophies, he is subject to being fired at any point. RFU are responsible for long term success beyond coaches.

After watching this and seeing just how intelligent Mike Brown clearly is and what a great communicator he is of his thoughts, I feel like he could easily move in to coaching post playing career and be successful at it

I would love to see stuart Lancaster have a second chance with coaching England after his amazing stint in Ireland and france! Question is could that be possible??

Great suggestion Kane. He’s one of the best coaches in the game currently. Defo worth considering

Well if you listen to what Lancaster has said he basically tells you that he would love another chance , he doesn't say it directly however that's what he means.

I would love to see Lancaster back in the England coaching team. He is a fantastic coach and has unfinished business with England. I would also love to see Shaun Edwards brought in, and our defence needs it as well as having his motivational character, and maybe even Mike Catt who has gone on to great things as an attack coach. Support Borthwick until the end of the 6Ns and then review.

Great debate lads; honest and fair. EJ was great but stayed on too long, and this has marred his legacy somewhat, despite the win % stats

For me Eddie did a great job up to 2019 RWC final, where he got the team choice wrong. After that did he lose the plot/a crisis in confidence in his game plan? Will we ever know?? He certainly seemed to be flapping around trying to come up with a plan and a team to get it to work. Too much chopping and changing and casting off good players before they got a chance to bed in and start producing. Up to 2019 A-, post C-/D...

Bang on although I would say post 2019 has to be an F, he completely lost the plot tactically, selection wise, etc. He ruined so many players England careers as was obsessed with playing Farrell 12. Which Borthwick I don’t think has tried at all? Correct me if wrong.

Love the channel guys, another great video. But have to disagree with DC’s point about foreign players. Adding the likes of Jack Willis, Joe Marchant, Kyle Sinckler, Henry Arudell etc would definitely improve England’s team. I completely understand the point about not wanting everyone to leave the premiership, but England recently have really struggled in the last 20 minutes of games and thus their squad depth, and having these kind of players to come on and impact a game would be huge. Plus, you can hardly blame the likes of Willis and Arundell for moving abroad when their English clubs folded, and then they were reassured by the RFU that they would continue to be picked for England.

DC love you mate but Jack Willis walks into this England squad. He is an absolute monster. He looks like one of the best players in the best club team in Europe. I would go as far to say he could almost walk into any international team with his recent form. and if Borthwick wouldnt pick him it would be an outrage.

Eddie I think is fair to say did improve the standard of Rugby for England, but I personally think it got really sour by the end because he was trying to be too complicated and that muddled what England were doing. But equally he left it in, only just, a littler better place than he found it. Part of Borthwick tenure I think has to be about his succession. Like Lee Carsley teeing up England football for Tuchel. Not saying Borthwick can’t win trophies, but his modus operandi should be to set up the camp with the strong foundations that England haven’t had since 2003

Young pro Players should be encouraged to pay abroad / Aus/Fra/NZ/Japan to finish off their Rugby Education and be better players. Then when they come back they will benefit the England Premiership! It also gives our youngsters an alternative pathway! When we have so many players drop out!

Other than Jack Willis and Kpoku who could be covered by Tom Willis and Hill (should have been instead of Isiekwe and Dombrandt) we don't need the rest, as we need development.

Eddie benefited massively from the foundation the lanny era put in place. Was just too early for lanny. Eddie is tweaker but can’t build anything himself.

I really rated Jones in the first few years but by end I was glad he was sacked. His team selections were a mess, he picked out of form players and his media interviews heaped pressure onto team with his stupid comments. Also it seemed a lot more players got injured in his training camps then any other coach.
