Fun fact…. It’s also the lemon helping. Before there was heartburn medicine, available, one of the home remedies for indigestion, and heartburn, was to squeeze some lemon into a cup, and slowly sip on it. My mom did it her mom did it so on and so forth. Happy digestion, everyone!

From someone who has digestive issues, gastritis and often has acid reflux (heartburn), lemon in the worst thing you can drink for it. You’re basically drinking something acidic to calm down your stomach acid, it just doesn’t work for most people and it can even cause stomach aches. It’s really the worst thing you can have. Just a drink a warm mint tea for digestion instead if you really don’t want to take meds and eat some plain biscuits to absorb the acid that is causing heart burn (or toast is also good, no butter just plain).

more fun fact, MOST regular tea is supposed to be made with boiling water to kill anything that is living in the tea, because it has probably been sitting on the shelf since the Jurassic era. If you want to do this, only use cold brew tea.
@kylehenline324523 күн бұрын
Short of like a weevil infestation gnawing through or something nothing lives in properly dried and stored tea, it's just too dry of an anvironment.
@fuzzyapple19 күн бұрын
Thats so not true. First off, tea is made from dried leaves, herbs, fruit and/or other stuff. The drying process alone would kill anything living in it. You're supposed to prepare tea with hot (not boiling!) water because that extracts deeper flavors from the ingredients and it's quicker than steeping it in cold water. Commercialized tea is safe to consume in any state, tho - you could even pop the whole dry tea bag into your mouth. If this wasn't the case, any tea would have to have a warning label on the packaging

If you wanna get more outta your lemon, use a peeler to get a nice strip of the skin, then juice the whole lemon and instead of putting a slice of lemon in, take that bit of skin and twist and squeeze it to get the oils going, then drop it in. It’s a common way to add citrus to a cocktail

As a southerner, I have wondered a time or two how carbonated sweet tea would taste, and now I will try it. Edit: yes it's very good in my opinion. And while I have yall's attention, if Jordan sees this I need him to try this (I came up with this and blew my family's minds): Take a regular slice of bread (I use wheat) and spread butter or margarine on it. Put it in the microwave for 12 to 15 seconds. Pour syrup on it and you have yourself a pancake. :D
