❤.. looks Great... & I'm not building planter boxes currently, but Great ideas for interesting planters.. & you haven't given me an interesting idea for how to build up the center of my large perennial bed .. 😊 I've been to Scotland, over 25 years ago.. most amazing gardens I have ever seen, in just everyday people's front yards. You definitely expect beautiful gardens on large estates, but they were everywhere.. So, I luv to watch your channel.. Cuz.. well, if I had to leave Canada ~ Scotland would be my 1st choice.. Beautiful country & super friendly to us 2 Canadians.. 😊

I was a good girl and paused right away. I was away and missed the part 1, then missed it when I was catching up. I really want to do this outside my front door. We have loads of space over here in Canada (10 acres of it is ours) but most of ours is natural forest. I made a field/flag stone patio area just out front and would love to do this around the perimeter. I have to think about materials but I think it would work great. I was thinking of incorporating some reservoirs under them and have the down spout off the roof feed into them first. As the water passes by, it will flush the reservoir and refill it with fresh rain water while the rest move on and out. In the dry spells I could just fill them using the hose I think. Not necessary over there for you I suspect. Might even be able to put some liquid fertilizer in them during the controlled water times. Thank you for such great content. ☺ Very inspiring.

I just planted 300 daffodils as a gorilla gardener. My gardens are just full to the max of spring bulbs so I use my fall budget and plant them in my random gardens in abandoned lots thru- out the city. The community gets to enjoy them then.

I really like cyclamen too, especially for winter colour but I struggle to keep them going through summer, especially in pots. Luckily they seem to self seed quite well so I usually find a few volunteers have sprung up in the autumn to replace the ones I’ve lost.

I love all them planters have you got a video on how to make them I am not very good at woodwork but I am willing to gave it a go on a Tuesday morning I do some volunteering at a allotment called men shed in Middlesbrough with people who have problems like depression I lost my mother quite a long time ago and I had a break down so I know what it is like so I got involved in the allotment and it has helped me with it 😁

Hmmmm We don’t do the “tutorial”thing on this type of stuff, but we’ve pretty much covered it all between the 3 planter builds we’ve shown. If you watch them in this order (it’s a playlist oldest to newest), you should have a pretty good idea of how we do it by the end. 😃 kzbin.info/aero/PLjhUBZdMh-4kTzsz2uTeEjhzHRNZTF8l3&si=GqN8mCp1hFz9QZEo

It is so enjoyable watching you two working together like this. That was a big project and it's looking great already. It'll look awesome when your spring bulbs start blooming. With all of the woods around me, Spring bulbs just end up feeding the squirrels, no matter what 'sure fire method' I've used to try and keep them out. I'll just enjoy yours from here.

A question I've wanted to ask a UK gardener: How do you keep it straight in your mind when you mean "compost" = finished broken down organic waste from the compost bin and "compost" = a blend that includes e.g. compost, sand, soil, coir, etc.) In Canada, we call the second "potting soil" or maybe "raised bed mix" if its bulk. I think I'm correct that you call them both the same thing. Is it context that keeps it clear?
@eliandkate
@eliandkate Жыл бұрын
The mixes we called…. So potting mix or seed starting mix Although often people just say compost or soil just as it’s easier, but technically, if you were buying them you’d be buying the mix. Although I make all my own because it’s much cheaper

Love the way you set it up but are you going to have enough room to work on the bed beside it when you need to put up netting? Just curious. It never fails that when you think something will be done in a certain time that it takes at least twice as long. Ask me how I know. LOL
