She reminds me of when I grew up in Brooklyn ny many many years ago with all the Italian ladies on the block including my grandma and great grandma. every sunday there were 5 italian ladies in my moms kitchen with same accent and all the food to match ! unfortunately now that they have all passed i can only only remember a few recipies. I grew up in a large Sicilian family who over time immigrated to the USA. We all lived in general proximity to each other. And the kitchen was the hub for everything. I could tell who came over the ocean when they were young and who came over later in life. all by their English accent. Nana Gina's accent is a spice you can not find in any store. If you were blessed, you grew up hearing it - usually from the Kitchen. It is the spice that makes the dish perfect. Grazie Nana Gina.

I'm old enough to be her daughter so I call her Mama Gina. She's a lovely lady. I wish her family would make a youtube video of all her songs just so we could listen to her while we relax and eat her recipes or while we cook them or just when we feel like some pretty Italian songs. I love to say along with her in my best Italian accent she has taught me...somebody like, they put , somebody no like, they don't put. She is a gem.I love her. I would love to sit and listen to her tell old stories of when she was growing up and raising her children. I used to ask my grandma and her friends for their old stories I had heard many times but I never grew tired of them.

I feel she has saved me living on my own old age like lot ppl I started buying Italian frozen dinners expensive but good but now I have heart to cook properly again & fill freezer with what make yourself like Gina I'm losing fat weight & feeling energetic again. But I notice family dropping in for meals more often ha. The secret of your children & grandchildren wanting to visit vibrant& happy nonna. I love her singing. My first husband was Mexican & he loved all classes of Beans. I do, too. We made some kinds of beans daily. We ate pinto beans daily. And then we would eat lentils & black beans garbanzo beans & northern beans & split peas & others. I love beans . I feel so much better when I eat beans. It gives me strength & keeps me going. I remember my Nonna stirring her spaghetti sauce at the stove. Then in came Nonno playing his guitar trying to serenade Nonna to 'Santa Lucia'. Nonna would seem embarrassed and tell him no, stop it! Meanwhile, Nonno would look at me laughing at her reaction😅.. the best memories, and those Sundays the Italian neighborhood men would come over and drink Nonno's homemade wine and play cards underneath the grape vines. ❤❤❤
