C.G.E. Mannerheim was a Finnish Field Marshall in WW2. Iron Cross is the German, Manneirheim Cross is Finnish and Purple heart and Bronze Star are US

If only you knew what all Törni did in Finland. For now, these books are only in Finnish. One book tells. Törni scouted the Russian stations. At night they rowed through the coast guard. Destroyed targets and hid in a Russian base for a day. When the Russians were looking for them along the forests. The next night they rowed back.

I've always wondered if Sabaton wrote a verse about him in the SS and decided to drop it out because it would stir too much controversy. I mean, they do sing about nazis on many songs but I guess it could be considered as supporting them if they were praising a war hero. It's kind of a side note on the song, Germany is mentioned once and the Iron Cross he was awarded.

His awards were insane. The Cross of Mannerheim is the highest of Finnish military awards. The German Iron Cross was very hard to obtain and you often had to do something heroic to get it. The American Purple Heart required you to be wounded in combat. The American Bronze Star is similar to the German Iron Cross and you have to do some act of heroism to obtain it. Distinguished Flying Cross is the Bronze Star but for aerial combat.
