I just love it when his face lights up and he says "yes, this is what my mom used to make." She passed before I ever met her so I never got to try her food, always working off my husbands memory of what it tasted like.

Thank you for specifying the salted and unsalted butter portion of recipes because that always drives me crazy never knowing what to do if I’ve got unsalted butter and how I should add salt. Alessandra, I have to tell you how much I love your recipes. I went on you tube to see how people made their Calamari (my favorite food in the entire world any way all day) I know how to make them but I was curious AND THERE YOU WERE. I watch cooking shows all the time. Yes I’m all Italian my story is long I won’t go into it. But you are the Chic. Your personality is delightful I could listen to you all day. Can I speak Italian no am I mad about that YES I worked in the Airline Industry for over 30 yrs , so when I met my Italian husband all he wanted to do was go to Italy. Every year for 15 yrs ( no I still didn’t learn the language) Sorrento my all time fav place on earth the best Gnocchi ever. ( my second fav food). Yes I cook and yes I bake. I just put your bread in the microwave til the morning. I make no knead Tuscan bread all the time. But I think I’m gonna like yours better. I’ll let ya know. The running joke in the house is when my husband asks “where do we go on vacation this year?“ he answers to himself “we not going to VICO AGAIN!!!” I’m your husband’s twin. 😂😂😂our blood runs green white and red. 💚🤍♥️ The cooking channel started during quarantine because I was sure I was going to die and my daughters would be opening up jarred sauce and that would kill me all over again. I made these last Sunday but used anise flavoring instead of vanilla. I was a little tired so I used an ice cream scoop of dough and baked them that way. My friends loved them and everyone wants my recipe. My Nonna always said, roll out a snake too.
