As a European, I’m quite familiar with this style of architecture and have always been hesitant about seeing European designs replicated in America. In most cases, they fail to capture the true essence of European design in an American context. However, I have to admit, this house is truly breathtaking-it’s an exception to the rule!

I'm European too. Surrounded by baroque and classicist buildings in my daily life, but this building is still a smiling attempt for me. And the saddest thing is that this trend has already been exported to Europe by our American friends...

@@EmmanuelDelahaye68 I am always horrified when I see Belle Epoque villas on the Riviera being demolished and such ones being built instead for the Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs. In Surrey, Great London, the charming Arts & Crafts buildings meet a similar fate.

Fortunately, in France, the classification of the most remarkable old buildings as "historic monuments" protects them from destruction as well as from haphazard architectural remodelling, but not from the ravages of time - to the extent that many of them end up falling into ruin for lack of maintenance, often also after being squatted or vandalised. As for financial affluence, it doesn't necessarily confer good taste, far from it... (and I think it's fair to say that this is a universal truth).

At first I also thought it was in Italy, but as the camera gets closer we can realize that proportions and materials are quite different from an authentic Villa. But it's a beautiful building

Close-ups of architectural details are amazing. A large house, but this is an excellent example of the outcome possible when you eschew maximizing square footage to achieve a ridiculously large space, and instead put the money/energy into design and build quality and details, with exceptional materials and construction. My favorite thing is the floating box the floating room with the green color and energy it floats and it’s got the green power inside. It’s just amazing the concert in the idea the glass lines are just lovely. Location of the neighborhood is beautiful in the actual season, which we don’t get to do that here in California but we have our own special unique in here. The home is perfect. Love you.

I love the classical order for a classical period of society. As an architect, my philosophy is not to replicate classical orders in a contemporary world but to use it as inspiration. Without a doubt, the spatial conception and overall character of this project are very captivating and resemble an architectural object, unlike most contemporary architecture that lacks spirit and is disconnected from the general public.

Thank you. So many people in the comments are saying they're impressed by the art, which is indeed impressive, but as you said, is a total mismatch. Why go through the trouble of hiring a high profile architectural firm to construct a multimillion dollar Italian style villa with an extensive case study for accurate detailing and throw a bunch of ultra modern art in it like a mirrored coffee table set that spells out the letters of the word BAR, a pair of full-length portraits of Tupac and Basquiat wearing white gloves and grabbing their crotches like Michael Jackson, or a wall full of planks cut and painted to look like Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars? You'd think they'd have both the finances and the aesthetic sensibility to go for some Renaissance works of art, or at least depictions or modern works informed by the styles of art typical of the region and eras that the design the house is intended to emulate. To each his own, but I'm with you some of the art may have been better suited in perhaps a modern wing of the house or something. You could almost hear the architect sighing and rolling his eyes as he did his best to be kind and compliment some of the owner's interior decor choices when it came to wall hangings.

It’s the glass ceilings it’s amazing the floating room the floating box room and green is just amazing. Very Pastor sense of serenity and beautiful and some lemon trees but if you were in Italy, beautiful, beautiful lemon trees, and beautiful flowers all around just to add a little bit of touch to it, and give it more more beauty to it more color from the outside the gardens are just beyond lovely they’re created with such detail. That’s what the important importance of the home every detail from inside and out from driveway to entry in the furnishings too are beautifully done.

The architecture is amazing, the blend between the old and new is so well done. Usually when you see new styles being used in houses with classical architecture they tend to not blend in and look awful. Also, from what I can tell America is getting ahead in using revival styles while in Europe it seems that people are too caught up with building ‘modern’ boxes… Congratulations to the architects and the builders for this amazing home & gardens!
