It's a good general vocabulary for the interrmediate speaker, in no particular order. Not a beginner lesson. I would just leave out the obvious pairs like cobra=cobra

@herrrob145 ай бұрын
I have to agree with you. The title of this says "MUST know." With words like "stuffing" and "barley," this is a bit ridiculous, not to mention very intimidating for a beginning level learner.

I was so worried before i watched the video thinking that they might have forgotten to mention "one hundred trillion". Luckily it was there and now i can rest easier. Definitely one of the most commonly used words in any language. Im a little surprised it did not make their top 100 list.

almost 4 hours of valuable content (with text and audio) and you only focused on the one thing that could not be correct for a beginner list. I can imagine how you live your life.

@@knibtronic1 aninbel, i think you have missed the point, this list is meant to be 1600 words every italian beginner must know!!! you must be rather silly if you think these words are so important for Italian Beginners!, Anteater, tornado, trillion, etc> hardly must know for everyday conversation are they?

It might be nice if nouns were distinguished from verbs and infinitives, e.g., the cook vs to cook, the rain itself vs the weather condition that's occuring, comb (the device) vs comb ( the activity). Students should know that the Italian language still some has inflection.

Question, do you say "studio l'italiano" or "studio italiano"? I've seen it written both when referring to a language. P.S I'm a self learner during quarantine so I appreciate all the help I can get!
@theOldVaquero4 жыл бұрын
The first is a bit more formal. It's like the difference between saying "I'm learning the Italian language" and "I'm learning Italian"
@Woodman-Spare-that-tree2 жыл бұрын
Some of these are unclear. For example “present”. Does that mean present as in the noun “a gift” or as in the statement “I am here” or as in the verb “to introduce someone” or does it mean “the present”, meaning “now, the present time”? Another example: Does “nut” mean the thing that squirrels eat, or does it mean the round metal thing that fits onto a metal bolt, or does it mean “lunatic”? And does “trip” mean trip (holiday) or trip (fall over)?

@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree yes, i lived in Chessington U.K., a very large Zoo there with free entry for local residents and i have to admit i used the word "Anteater" every day in general conversation and this is an incredibly useful word that every one should learn at the earliest opportunity so that they too can converse in Italian whose population's conversations are peppered with it! therefore it is definitely one of those 1600 words "that every Italian beginner must know"

The translation of the infinitive from italian to english needs the prefix "to" if not the word means something completely different eg nuotare is "to swim" and not just swim which is nuoto and the same for studiare is "to study" and not just study, study is studio. This video doesn't teach accurate grammar
