Peter Seidler's passing and the current ownerships infighting is the main reason why the Padres have not been able to do anything this season. Sure they made questionable signings during Seidler's time but it was always with the focus of winning a championship. This year there is no focus due to ownership being more concerned on controlling the franchise than leading the franchise to a winning season

In his tenure Vo division titles, no pennants, no WS appearances. Nothing to show for all the spending and big contracts. Meanwhile the lowly Diamondbacks went to WS and signed Corbin Burnes. A change is needed because AJ has never had a long term plan or vision. It’s always fly by the seat of pants and make it up as he goes.

As a dodger fan I really enjoyed the fact that we had a legitimate division rival part of the reason the dodgers would have early play off exits is because they were never really tested in the regular season. Steel sharpen steel and I knew after they beat the Padres they’d win the World Series. With that said the fan base is super annoying. They swear they’ve won it all. Beating them was extra sweet.

It was obvious their window was very very narrow based on the issues internally and how many stupid contracts they ended up signing. That Bogarts one really did not help them at all. I'm not saying you can't use Bogarts but not for that amount of money. No way. But, when it comes down to it. They will be trying to offload at this point, there isn't going to be much for them this season I think unless the prospects and current players just have a complete overhaul and show up guns blazing and surprise everyone (Which I hope they do). I will still be going to the games, I love our Padres and our stadium and our city. But, if they are changing the uniforms, I hope they are bringing back the 90's White, Orange trim and Navy Blue. That would be awesome to see. I loved those days at Qualcomm!

As a Dodgers fan, I take no joy in whats going on in San Diego. Yes I hate the Padres. Yes I hate the fans. But thats the point of why I hate whats going on w/ their ownership and players leaving. Baseball rivalries fuel competition and creates better games and atmosphere. I don't hesitate when I say that NLDS was the best series of 2024, w/ the only bad thing about it was that it was a best of 5. I want the Padres to be good, I want them to be a threat. W/ AZ and SF also adding, I was so hyped for an all-out bloodbath for the NL West (excluding CO). But now, Idk if SD will be that competitive this year. Yes they still have players like Tatis and Machado so they ain't dead. I just hope we ain't witnessing their last gasp.

I think it hinges on if they trade King or cease. If they trade one of their core starters then this will definitely be a down year for them. But i continue to maintain that the padres have a very solid core of Talent and with the signing of Elias Diaz they have all stars at every position in on the field. And as for a replacement for profar, Tirso Ornelas had a monster season in AAA last year, whether that will translate into success in the Majors is yet to be seen, but maybe he could be poised to have a breakout like Merrill did last year. From a Padre, fan i've seen every terrible team since the mid 2000's and the disappointment of 2023 at the end of the day it comes down to performance. I've seen teams poised to win 95 games win 70 and teams that had a 1 percent chance to make the playoffs make a run in october. Baseball is crazy like that and thats why its so fun. I pray that the team perfoms but they are facing and incredible NL West division this year and I think if we keep cease and king, preller can makes some small time moves thats can supplement this team very well. Keep the faith. I am delusional

Padres are still a solid team. They really didnt need to make many moves. Probably should have brought Kim back and signed a reliever or two but its still a solid team. As a dbacks fan, I think they are 3rd best.

My early prediction for 2025 Padres: On the field, business as usual. They still produce numbers, compete and make the playoffs. But, in the end they suffer a WC (Wild Card) exit. Afterwards, the front office drama would intensify.
