Her team was up 7-1 in the final and her and her teammates were acting like they won when there was still an inning left. Sure as shit, the other team got hot and tied the game up to go into extra innings. They beat my cousin's team 8-7 after an infield error. As a Mariners fan, I respected Chris as a 3rd base coach and all he did for the Mariners as a coach and coordinator. But once he left for the Dodgers that’s where it changed. I remember watching the game where he hyped up a home run as they were winning I think by 6 late in the game against the Mariners his former team so he’s a hypocrite for the unwritten rule. Look I get the Yankees stadium so I would be mad if the home run would’ve been an out in most other ballparks. But 26/30 of the ballparks idk what he’s on. He’s just a dumb guy with the comments and his way of the ‘unwritten rules’ and should focus on his team after they spend almost half a billion dollars during the offseason.

Why would it matter if it would be an out in other parks anyway? Its not like its 314 down the line for the Yankees and pushed back for the visitors. Rangers had 27 outs to hit homers in a "little league park", so did the Yankees. As long as its an even playing field, it doesn't matter.

Despite being in 1st place, I think Dave Roberts is a pretty weak manager. The Dodgers are great despite Roberts, not because of him. He's too emotionally bonded with his players to make important decisions like benching Bellinger all of last season, benching Max Muncy this season, and replacing Kimbrel as his closer. Managers need to hurt feelings sometimes for the better of a team but he cant do that.
@samorpilla74672 жыл бұрын
Part of being a good manager is having your guys backs. Players respond well to knowing a slump won’t get you benched for the season. Yes, it’ll lead to times where you ride players who never break out of their slump too long, but it gives all player’s confidence to just continue to work hard knowing playing time isn’t an issue. Remember, these guys are human being who want respect and want to play enough to get paid. The Dodgers are so good that Roberts has all the slack he needs to give players a chance to work it out. If they benched Bellinger, they’d be maybe 2 games better this season? No difference in the standings, but all the difference to Bellingers confidence and adding pressure to all struggling players. It’s a fine line to walk, and this isn’t a video game where you can just bench or trade all under performing players with no repercussions.
@jbulletc2 жыл бұрын
@@samorpilla7467 I lean more into that mentality too, but Cody last year is more than your average slump. That season was literally ranked as the worst season by a former MVP. Perfect example that shows Tatis was playing the game the right way just happened less than two weeks ago. Phillies were up 7-1 in the ninth against the Mets…the lose 8-7. That means the Mets scored 7 runs in the ninth. But yeah somebody’s feelings might get hurt because their team sucked that night. Maybe they shouldn’t you know give up the homer to Tatis in the first place. Also if someone wanted to throw me a cookie I’m going to smoke it. That homer counts the same as any other and in a sport with arbitration I wanna get the best stats as possible. Also as a Phillies fan I thought this video would be about Joe Girardi which quite possibly is the real dumbest manager in baseball. He thinks Jose Alvarado should be anywhere near a competitive game in the late innings and uses 162 lineups a season. Last year it took him 100 games to figure out Hector Neris should pitch the sixth and seventh innings rather than bring his gas can out when he’s in the closer role. He should call Mariano Rivera everyday and thank him for the opportunity to steal money from the Phillies dumbass owner.
@RobKandell2 жыл бұрын
@@freeparking301 - They’re rare, but I remember the Tigers making a similar 9th inning rally against the Royals in 2006. Players play with a lot of pride and teams don’t give up just because they’re in a hole. Isn't it interesting the moment Nolan Ryan was forced out of the Rangers by Jon Daniels... they have sucked HARD since with the exception of 2015 & 2016. Yet, the moment he walked back into the Astros organization, they've become an empire since. Coincidence? P.S. Yes I know the Astros cheated in 2017 & 2019. I guess I've got a different mindset....and probably why I'm not a manager. But if our/my team is bad enough to be losing 10-3 in the 8th...and we've allowed 3 guys on base and are about to walk another guy in...I don't care if he hits a home run. We obviously suck this game. I see it as picking straws comparing the two situations. Us to be inept and allowing 3 on base and giving up a home run or us being inept and walking in another run for a freebie..nothings changed...except for another run. No one ever mentions the bases will still be loaded for Manny Machado. Am I to assume the other coaches know to quite trying to score runs after the 7th inning. So are we suppose to quit too? Why don't we just have a little league run limit after 7 innings? What would happen if the other team takes out many of their starters...because they've already got a 7 run lead in the 8th....and then our team scores 5-6 runs in the 8th to make it interesting? How is that fair, if one team is suppose to quit trying to hard, but the losing team keeps playing. I thought these guys were in the Major Leagues! If managers want a "mercy rule", then just make it a damn rule. But I guess the teaching moment is "hey guys, we're behind...so take it easy the rest of the night....I mean, don't give up....just take it easy." I think that's a line from the movie "Rudy" or "Miracle". The greatest coaches of all-time all use similar lines. I think Jimmy Valvano said it best "Give up, just give up already". If it's so embarrassing to swing at a pitch 3-0, with bases loaded in the 8th, down 10-3.....then why is it okay.....at least I've never seen a manager get pissed or speak out against it.....when it's the exact same situation....but now it's an outfielder pitching and he gives up the grand slam...and then gives up another. You've conceded but the hitters didn't. Either call the game, make everyone bunt back to the pitcher and make this suffering stop, or quit complaining and play better. P.S. I might as well say this too. I hate the Joe Torre rule too. "if you hit one of our guys, we're going to his two of yours." As long as it's not at the head or someone gets hurt. Fine. Put guys on base and we'll beat your ass.
