My friend Gayle is Croatian and myself half Siciliano so i ejoyed the typography. The sunset was beautiful but my favorites are your MOON lit reflections at night. The black, white, and silver hues are so calming on a rolling sea. LaLuna can be a beacon for a sailor at night. As welcoming to see as the Sun... Thanx again Sam. And wow best meals ive seen you cook. Did you pick the Asparagus yourself. I hear it grows wild in my native land. Right off the fields. My grandmother would ho pick them in her youth. Keep floating the seas, let them give that pickle a tickle!

So what i always on sailing channels is, people sailing from country x to country y. But what i am missing is the required administration and who needs to be informed when you leave/arrive and how. And ofcourse what you are not required to tell the authorities (like sailing from Isle to Isle?!?). So my question would be what is involved to travel from country to country, what are the costs, and are there places you would be denied, and how to adjust your plans.
@neversinkmakes7 ай бұрын
Yup - it is no doubt more complicated than Sam makes it look. But the bright side is that there are a lot of people living aboard their boats and exploring the world, going from country to country, so there are quite a few resources online. As an alternative for those who have the means to do so, there are also professional agents who help handle these types of logistical/administrative tasks.
@samholmessailing7 ай бұрын
Depends on the country you’re leaving and sailing too. Sometimes nothing needs to be done and sometimes you have to find some authorities and do paperwork and fees.

I usually try to call in just in case but don’t usually get a response. It’s easier to just take a dock anyway and find them later.
@bySaverio7 ай бұрын
@@samholmessailing if you are going to moor in Apulia (Brindisi or Bari) they will most likely answer your call especially during summer months due to high tourist traffic (that's my experience). That being said you are not required by law to call in when entering a port with a recreational boat in Italy (and that's probably another reason why they don't answer your calls). Just a heads up contrary to every port in Italy you got the right of way when entering the port of Brindisi.
