Hello there ! This part of France from Saint Malo to Nantes is called Brittany, and used to be a country. I was a mix with « brit’s » and celtics. There are a lot to see you missed the « rose cost » with granit with the special color. Don’t miss Carnac the most iconic menhir and dolmen place in the world. I am in Pornichet if you need a stop point and maybe I can help. Thank you to give dreams !

Camaret. I hope you had the occasion to learn the famous song about the Priest of Camaret ! Next time I hope you'll sing it to us with your ukulele 😁 Regarding your salmon I read "trout" (truite) on the pack. Technicaly a trout is a member or the salmonids family, but it's not a salmon and certainly not "a weird French salmon". Just a trout. 😉

Been watching your videos for the past year or so. My Father used to take me out sailing as a kid with his buddies up in mid-coast Maine. I remember getting anxiety from how they would sail - getting the edge as close to the water as possible. Never thought I'd want to go sailing again in my life but you proved me wrong. From the way you explain what you're doing to the places you explore. It's a world full of wonder and excitement. What really makes these videos special is your vibrant, wholesome personality which makes the viewer feel as though we are watching a good friend on his adventures across the seas - a place few of us are able to explore. Thanks for existing, Sam.

Loved your use of the navionics voice-over to describe current sailing conditions/ destination. Really adds to the story telling when its used during the passage as opposed to a recap later on. Same goes for the 360 cam sail changes. Thanks for bringing us along with you Sam!

Again a nice video. The Bay of Biscay can be terrible when it comes to waves (see eg Igor Stropnik's videos where he sails various catamarans from the Netherlands and France to Croatia). By the way, I love these sleepy little French towns. Not only along the coast, but also inland. There is a very special atmosphere there which I really like with old buildings and a lot of unpretentious history.

Well if you just watch the middle 10 minutes of this episode on auto replay for like 50 million cycles you can get a real feel for whether you, too, could be a solo cruiser just like Sam!! I think I'm still satisfied with sailing closer to home with my little San Juan 21 and my Hobie Adventure Island. Love everything about sail boats/sailing except the seasickness and constant danger...i used to work on the North Atlantic and Davis Strait in winter on a small ship...60-70 days on, 30 days off, ..no running into ports for bad weather except the most extreme weather forecast and even then maybe not. Love the classic American yacht designs from the 1930s-1960s for their looks.

Was the bit where you were saying ‘I don’t like these seas' the closest you get to being if not scared then a bit apprehensive? You don’t seem like someone who scares easily and you probably don’t do 'fear'. Those seas looked big on camera so they must have been quite intimidating (mind you, there were some pretty rough seas on your way down from Belgium.
