The sculptural reliefs on this facade are both beautiful and well defined. I marveled at this years ago when I was a student in Italy. How did the facade stay preserved so well? This cathedral's principal attractions are: 1) the incredible frescoes by Signorelli and 2) the altar cloth that was stained with Christ's blood (the Miracle of Bolsena).

the orvieto cathedral It is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe, its facade is a fantastic combination of sculpture and color. It is similar to the Cathedral of Siena, but more beautiful. very good video.
