That is the point that they are making, not the suboptimal option - same sex couples, who have no framework other than to simulate a mother and father figure. Evidently, life is not straight forward, so I personally don't see an issue for same sex couples to raise children, unless what they are saying about women being enslaved is true, which i dont think it is for most same sex couples.

Most of the population is straight. That makes being straight normal. It also makes being trans abnormal. Why would I raise my child to be abnormal? If a child says they want to grow up and be a doctor I do not hold them to that decision. They have a right to change their mind. So I take no steps to push the child to become a doctor but instead I simply wait until the child works that out for himself. The same holds true for gender identity. It is not the job of the parent to spot it or to do anything. The children will work that out for themselves. Later in life they could blame the parent for pushing them in a direction that they ultimately did not want to go. Let kids decide for themselves. To do anything is overparenting.
