I've been watching Norally since her early days and her reruns get me through my slow days. Enjoyed this video as it shows her personality. The struggles she had during covid-19 times to me was the best. I think what got me through it all was her "infectious" smile and laughter. The best cure. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️

@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips I haven't ridden in years. In the early 70s I had a 125 Honda Elsinore Enduro. I was in middle school and lived on the outskirts of Las Vegas Nevada. Noraly's journey through Africa has shown some of the best of humanity... being given bread and invited to tea in very modest homes in Madagascar, accompanied through the desert, ferried across rivers with a 'can do' attitude. This is an amazing view of people living close to the earth, as they have for centuries, on a very diverse continent. Her talk while riding through the diamond mining area of Sierra Leone this last week was very informative...I'm sure she is well versed on geology and mining in many parts of the world. I would like to see her meet up with Nick Zentner, the geology prof at Central Washington Univ, and travel along the Columbia River Gorge

Noraly has ridden to and in the UK a few times from Holland between seasons delivering her Bikes for shipping, I've always wondered if she'll do a season here and what a lovely answer she gave. TBH she could make it a 'holiday' season from the almost torturous journeys she's made through each early season and plan a route at the best time of year April / May she'd love it and how she'd make it a challenge would be interesting.

Such is her charisma & character, she was laughing & enjoying herself being there it seemed. I'm not sure whether she has given talks or presentations before at least not on that scale. This video was from the Friday morning on the smaller stage at 11am, a lot of people were still arriving & setting up there tents etc so missed it. The following day she was on the bigger stage, word had spread around the festival, consequently the marquee was packed & 3-4 deep around the side! I'd say after the overwhelming reception she got from the crowd when she came on stage she seemed taken aback with the support (rightly so). Straight after that she was enthusiastic & comfortably giving her talk & answering questions at the end & having a good laugh at things. The whole experience was great as it gave us all to see Noraly in a different setting and again she just came across being just a wonderful person we know & love from her channel.

Absolutely agree with that & wondered why not too? She gets kit from Revit obviously but regarding the bike there seems little support. There might be something in her being attached to that particular bike & saying she did that tour on that particular bike. So I'm guessing even if Honda sent in a replacement bike it would've the same meaning at the end of a trip. There is something in saying 'Alaska' was the bike that conquered the Americas. COME ON HONDA - WAKE UP…..”YOU MEET THE NICEST PEOPLE ON A HONDA” AND NORALY IS PROBABLY THE NICEST! From Cambridge UK 🇬🇧

Noraly has has said she doesn’t want a bike sponsor atm. She’s wants to be able to ride what ever bike she wants at the time … she started on royal enfields … can’t remember her bike she had in Holland.. also rode a different brand in the Baja ralley. Maybe she will down the track. Who knows

Noraly is certainly a one woman expeditionary force,taking us to places most of us didn't know existed, and with her geographic background, also learn something about our planet and the people on it. One thing I've learned is that people of the 'western' world are you less freindly and hospitable than their counterparts. Or is it really Noraly's georgeous smile, infective laughter and blue eyes 🤔. If she were british, she would be up for promotion to Dame Noraly 😉. Thanks to you too Daz for bringing this video and to the ABR powers to be for this delightfuf surprise, even tho' I had to watch it from Germany. This ITCHIBOOTS dose came just in time 😓😂🤣

Thanks for commenting here 👍. Yes I agree, if there was a draft or pilot for a TV series with the idea of a solo female traveller prepared to travel the world into remote places & survive, there you would have Noraly. Except she'd film, present & star in, edit, prepare equipment, manage logistics, routes & embassy visa's etc etc etc & still have a smile on her face at the end of the day! I'd sign the petition to get Noraly a Damehood but thats the dilemma, more fame more recognition. A few people have commented about this, let's just hope there's more places in the world for her to explore. Thanks fof your comments, pleased the vid helped. By the way I just rode to Bavaria & rode the 600km Romantiche Strasse , just posted 4 short vids, check those out if you'd like to. Cheers, Daz 👍

Definitely agree with that. Before she became 'Itchy Boots' Noraly travelled a lot with her work as a Geologist. She discovered her love for motorcycling in India as it's the most used transport to get about. Awesome I’ve fallowed Noraly from the start like most people would have loved to see her in person but I know it’s good for her the people who not sure if I’ll word this right but try to benefit of Noraly’s success like her secret life hidden film crew I remember on one site I had commented that they were profiteering off Itchy Boots success because they weren’t good enough to find there own way 😂 but I also realize that it can make more people watch Itchy Boots that actually helps her make mor content for us to watch and to more far out places. I’m so jealous of you 😂 not for being at the ABR Festival but for seeing Noraly and your the first one I’ve came across showing zItchy Boots at the ABR festival so I am now looking for more so thank you for sharing 👍👍👍🏍️🏴🏍️🏴🏍️🏴

I have been watching Noraly for several weeks now and she's an inspiration. I understand her love of travelling to new places, waking up in the morning in a new place and going to the window to see, then exploring. I'm an army daughter, so this I understand. I don't understand wanting to travel alone in places like African countries and countries where people are very very poor and might be tempted by the things they see that she has.Or places where women are viewed as being subservient. At least, I'd only go to those places if I had a weapon. I'm not timid, just realistic.

Fun stuff! When I decided I wanted to go ride motorcycles for real like 2 years ago after saying it and thinking about it when I was way younger. I've also thought and (day)dreamed about riding in The Netherlands (my home country) but also visit neighboring countries example the whole of UK which includes Ireland, Scotland etc as well, but also Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg, Italy and then maybe further. But the further one may be a long time away. UK was an easy pick because the language barrier isn't that high for me, my English is pretty solid so that makes it a lot easier. And I've looked around online for some places of interest and for sure it will have amazing sights to be seen.

I wish you well on your adventures Kevin. Id suggest you research the routes well to get the most from your trips. I've posted some videos of places to go. My 'Cost of Wales' video playlist will show you how beautiful Wales is. Wales is a popular destination for riders here. Another video I posted called '8 Mountain Passes in One Day'. That shows the awesome Lake District another popular place. So many places actually, & then there's Ireland & Scotland too. So wherever you go, enjoy! Daz 👍

There was a point during the Alaska series when she'd been helped more than once by English bikers. I posted pretty much the same thing, that the UK would make an interesting mini-series. I was thinking Land's End to John O'Groats. Taking in Wales, the Pennines and Scottish Highlands. There's lots of interesting rural and urban places along the route.
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you ZombieATAT, there has been a couple of, shall we say cynical post's questioning where would Noraly go in the UK? I answered those post's by typing this as a couple of idea's: Scotland Highlands & Islands Route 750km. 3-4 Days. Steeped in folklore & legends, the West Coast of Scotland, untamed & remote. Mountains, loch's, awesome scenery, hundreds of miles of coastline with hidden valleys with empty roads even in the height of summer. Ferries connecting to remote island communities, marine wildlife, heather cloaked moors, roads snaking around lochs & weaving through glens for hundreds of kilometres. England & Scotland 'Bound for the Borders Route 700km. 3-4 Days. Northumberland coast northwards crossing the border into Scotland then south via Jedburgh towards the Roman 'Hadrians Wall'. Medieval astles, crumbling Abbey's & fortifications left for centuries after warfare even before the Roman occupation. Ferries from Holland dock in Newcastle allowing riders to enjoy this awesome route. Cumbrian Lake District Route. 200km 1 day. In the stunning Lake district National Park you will find 150 mountains, 16 lakes & more than 50 dales. England's highest peak Scafell Pike 978m or 3209km & longest lake Windermere 17km. Don't forget the Hardknott Pass which I recently rode on my GS, a 1:3 or 33% gradient very tight hairpin bend! I'm running out of text allowance now before I have even started answering the question. I haven't even got to: The Emerald Isle, Ireland 1100km 7-10 days. A magical land of soft green hills & misty lakes encircled by a spectacular craggy coastline rising from the Atlantic. Welsh Mountains & Valleys 350km 1-2 days. The Snowdonia National park covers an area of 2,131 square km's with it's western boundaries bringing sight of spectacular stretches of coastline found in Britain. Mountains sweep down into the sea here also being a popular playground for bottlenose dolphins. The Brecon Beacons 1,350 square km's. This bikers paradise even has an Italian inspired village! I'm rambling on a bit now but there is a whole lot more, places she could go which are remote enough & there's the 'Trail Riders Fellowship' which is another idea for remote riding on green lanes.

@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips There's something I noticed recently through watching other travel videos, people don't really understand the UK. There was a guy that had visited London and he was grumbling about folks not being friendly, saying he wouldn't return. On the one hand, it's a city and no one has time for anyone in any city. On the other hand, there's nothing natural about any location that's geared predominantly towards tourism. After leaving him a comment, that pretty much boiled down to promoting everything in the UK North of the English North/South divide, I realised their must be a lot of tourists that never get past London. I've got a feeling that Noraly also might have only been here on business and never really strayed away from urban areas. Maybe she views it like Europe, when in reality it packs in all the same appeal but much more condensed. I'm not a rider, I'm actually travelling vicariously continuing to learn more about the (real) world from my couch due to severe illness. There are definitely people from outside the UK that have planned interesting routes and that's usually come from just straight up asking people in their videos where they should go. I recognise most of the locations you've listed but not so familiar with the biking aspect. I went with a more vague approach because it seems more like her style and gives an overall goal for the trip. Honestly, I'm now thinking blend both together. A combination of showcasing that the UK has great roads and scenery, plus interesting cultural and historical sites. Pointing out some unmissable rides, then letting her piece the rest together as she normally does. Obviously series 20 is long way off though!!
