Shokota Karate is the son of the "Tode" of Okinawa and the "Tode" of Okinawa is the son of the styles of southern China, to the point that "Do" comes from "Tao", which means "Way" in philosophy and Chinese Taeoist religion, although they do not accept it. Shotokan karate don't know how to using their leg, so shotokan not deserve to be father of Taekwondo..

Kyoshinkai or Oyama's karate is the real thing. In his book, "What is Karate", Oyama commented that Funakoshi was always concentrating on kata which is very good for children... (paraphrased). What Oyama was seeking was spiritual depth which prompted GM Oyama to reclused himself to the mountains.
