7 years after backing this, my gaming group has talked about playing it, a few of the players in the group have had a chance to play a bit here and there, in 2 days, we finally start a Blades in the Dark campaign. Looking forward to it. I've been watching these for a week now, getting my brain prepped for running the game. It's been helpful to see the role playing here to see where it fits in. This could be a rather flat game with just dice rolls and moving from scene to scene, but you guys have shown just how deep the RP can go. Thanks!!

I cannot tell the players and the community that made this possible how much this video today has helped me, I've had a very bad week; gf decided she didn't like me anymore and dumped me, dog might lose part of his tail because of an infection, dislocated my shoulder for the 3rd time in 3 weeks ect.ect.. I've watched roll-playing on the itmeJP channel for a very long time and I would like to thank Geoff for his entertaining characters Mr. S, Vincent, Jaxx, thank you to John, Adam, and Steven for their amazing talent of storytelling, thank you to Zeke for his optimistic attitude and his beautiful portrayals of a characters very different than his personality, thank you to Jesse Cox for always rolling with the punches to make the sessions crazy fun (Balance of Power, Maid RPG), and finally thank you to itmeJP for bringing together this amazing group of people I started roll-playing myself after discovering it on your channel. I know I'm not alone in saying this channel has brought countless hours of joy and relief, thank you to everyone involved Patreon members and cast.

Given how new it is, there really isn't a lot, and most of it is created by the players/group as the game goes along. The best place to look is the book, there's really not a wiki for it or anything (yet).

im sad the group doenst seem to want to take over turf and just do jobs i get how 2 of them are player specific though it just seem that getting some of the turfs would benefit them in the long run
@stassinet8 жыл бұрын
The tension between "look at all these rad mechanical benefits you could be getting" and the stuff the GM throws at the players that directly tempts their character backgrounds and goals (and their lust for gold) is a really interesting element of Blades in the Dark.

I would like to suggest the name The Black Ember Group for this crew. I feel like it fits with their consorting with demons and ghosts. Or better yet The Hands of Fate, MST3K fans will know why.

Even though it gives it a nice family/community feel i dislike the nerd rambling at the start, it always forces me to awkwardly skip to the start of the actual gameplay because i want to avoid spoilers. That being said i like the series and enjoy the content :)

Why do people keep acting as though there were no "strong female characters" until the past few years?
@Errtuabyss7 жыл бұрын
Exactly! There are tons of well known and beloved strong female characters. Not always in the lead roll but you shouldn't have a problem finding one from before 2006. Did you all forgot Sarah Connor? Ripley? What about Trinity? Basically everything Milla Jovovich was staring in.. The main difference to todays cinema is that they wheren't forced down our throat that much. Females wheren't strong and independent for the sake of beeing strong and independent but because the character was and it made sense for the movie. Besides lame stereotypical stuff I would have a much bigger problem pointing out weak dependant female characters in movies up from the 70s or 80s. Even back in the day when everything was black and white (in more then one sense) there where good written, strong female characters in movies. Just not the norm. We could all stop pretending now. It's the current year.

Arkantos has nobody heard of wonder woman?
@samuelbott61044 жыл бұрын
@@Errtuabyss It's not that they didn't exist, strong, independent female characters have always existed, they were just, as you say, not the norm. Even now, Straight White Males are the default protagonist to a level that is not accurate to reality, we have gotten a lot better about it in recent years, but I wouldn't say they are 'shoved down our throats'. When you are used to the privilege of being the default any threat to that position feels like an assault.
@Errtuabyss4 жыл бұрын
@@samuelbott6104 the default for what? fiction that is aimed at males? How does it look for female focused media? Or media in non-white countries? How many straight white males are the lead in asian productions? The norm will always be adapted to the target audience. If you don't do that people won't be as interested. Which is exactly the argument with representation. Which, of course, is only partially true. People won't care if a character is well writen. But that requires well writen and presented characters. Which seems to be the biggest problem in modern media.

Am I the only one who hated the new Star Wars?
@pakkazull83708 жыл бұрын
I didn't hate it, but the more I've thought and reflected on it, the less I like it. There are just too many things that don't make sense or are just lazy re-tellings of plot points from the previous movies. I still think it's a decent movie, but not great. It was certainly good enough that I'll see the next one, but if that one too ends up being a rehash I'd be mighty disappointed.

I am not a star wars fan, the old ones are Okay the middle ones are trash and this last one is better then #4 eps 1 but not by a crazy margin
