One criticism of your reactions I have is that they're very Till-centric. Rammstein isn't Till Lindemann with a backing band, they all have input into the songs and the vidoes and nothing gets released without full band approval. Kudos as well on this video to Joern Heilman, the director of this and several other videos from the band (IchWill, Sonne, Radio etc.). Without him, this video wouldn't exist in the way it does.

Not everything..not all songs revolve around Till...yes he is the singer and frontman but Rammstein is as they said " a democracy" nothing gets passed, released or put out unless all 6 of them agree. In fact I read that while recording the Mutter album in 2000 that for one song,(not known which) Till wrote 24 different lyrics before finally, everyone in the band agreed. Each member respect and help each other. No matter what personal problems/issues they may be going through, relationship problems, drugs, alcohol etc. they always stand by and support each other and they make it so no one member is better than the rest or what one member says goes.. no..they are all equal. Richard Kruspe (lead guitarist) in an interview said: "Rammstein follow their own rhythm. We never give a shit about the people who think we need to get a record out every two years and that's one of the reasons why we're still together with the same lineup. We take care of each other, and if somebody needs to take the time off or do something else, we listen"

Rammstein commented on modern sex tourism with the song "Ausländer". They show the contradiction between what sex tourists say and what they do. These men pose as travelers and interested people, but this is not reflected in their behavior. They act like louts, like barbarians.

The song is about colonization. Having said that it has a happy ending. Undertones of the greatest punk band that ever was and their song. Straight to hell.

This song amused me a lot, because it reminded me of the situation during the world football championship in Russia. Then there were many tourists and men who wanted to have fun with Russian women. Guys all the time came up to meet even where you do not expect. I remember one guy came up to me at the grocery store with a phrase without preamble - come with me, I'll make you feel good. God give me strength for the same primitive pick up. I forgot about this incident, but then I listened to this song and laughed so hard. Till so accurately conveyed the behavior of some sex-tourists, brilliant!

On behalf of all Europeans, I must apologize for this clumsy remark. However, in our defense, Russian women are seen as "the most beautiful creatures on earth" in European culture. Besides, most European soccer fans are not very civilized or experienced in dealing with women😅😂
@robertbretschneider7652 жыл бұрын
@@asator2746 They are very experienced in the overusage of beer though, but the russian women still are used to way harder men, drinking wodka. And of course, on a higher standard, romantically and civilized, in some cases. ^^ Way better than football fans.
@asator27462 жыл бұрын
@@robertbretschneider765 I guess it's not hard to get above the level of the average soccer fan. I think most women around the world are used to more polite interactions. So in your worldview, people who drink vodka are "harder"? And that makes them better or more Sexy ? "lol" And besides there are high proof distilled spirits in every culture. In Japan you have Sake and in Europe you have German schnapps and Polish vodka... Beer is in some parts of Europe culturally a staple that is drunk in some places for breakfast.... there you don't drink beer to get drunk but because it's part of everyday life.

@@asator2746 Hey, i was toying with some stereotypes of russian men, just like u did with a stereotype of russian women. If u dont know, my stereotype reflects a grave problem among the russian male population. They have a male cult of hardness to be accepted among men and sometimes women, that drives them into excessive drinking (wodka for the most part) and extreme risks to show their braveness. As a result, russia is one of the countries with one of the lowest men to women ratio, because way more men than in most other countries in the world tend to die younger, leading to a lack of men among russian women and at least partwise to the behaviour of russian women to dress in short clothes even in winter and to boost themselves with makeup, good clothes and nice hair even in their everyday life to take out the garbage can. - Which was also the reason for ur claim, russian women are "the most beautiful creatures on earth." At least partwise. And so the circle closes... ^^ (Russian birth rate is extremely low because of it too btw.)

I think you did not get the message of this sorry. It is about how germans, westerns, act and behave when they are tourists. Almost colonial with a feel of superiority. Also they dont really come to get in contact with the locals. They put on a tourist act, consume and are gone the next day anyway. Meanwhile they fantasize about sexual interaction and kind of making the locals objects by ataching exotic prejudges. The social crizism is hard to get but Rammstein attacks a certain typical 'germanness' here, in my opinion, a way of not being real, being somehow official, an official tourist. In the end there is a positive message: Love will always win and the desire is fullfilled resulting into a mix, quite literally.
@tomate33912 жыл бұрын
Some say it is about sex tourism, but when you watch the video carefully is might be also an critic on the exploiting colonialism. All band member act like kings who has to be served, and they act also reckless in that video. At the end they leave the place with goods of value. So, if the place once is exploited they leave and go to another place. In that sense you can also understand "ich bleibe 2-3h Stunden" (I stay only 2-3h)

I think u didnt got tills and rammsteins ironic sense of humor. He overdid it to critizize sex tourism common among germans, especially to thailand, but to other cultures as well. The criticism isnt delivered directly in the lines, u have to read between the lines, and especially the music video delivers it very well, to show how the "Foreigners" let themselves treated like kings, but they dont respect the culture, they just want vacation and cheap sex and feel themselves superior.

It is a ironic song about a Gigolo looking for girls in foreign countries. The main argument about foreigners in each countries that they stealing the women or rape them. That is a common prejudice to allow racism and nationalism. And the video show that the European people were also foreigners and invading other countries, but nowadays say to much people from this countries coming to Europe. Again a tricky Ramstein song.

I think it’s even broader. It points a finger at the entire hypocrisy of our day and age, with everyone traveling abroad „switching their personalized welcome sign until they are happy“ but at heart still staying so foreign but also, of course, the general attitude of colonialism and anti-immigration. The type of boat they use is imo. intentional and reflects the same type of boar many refugees and migrants use to pass the Mediterranean.
@miketyukanov17482 жыл бұрын
@@LifeisFoo yes, and it looks like a reply to a possible American criticism "In "Pussy", you portray an ugly American looking for easy sex in Germany, are you Germans any better when abroad"? Their answer is "No, we are the same". However, there is another side to it. The choice of words is telling: "Und wenn die Sonne untergeht Und man vor Ausländerinnen steht" vs. "Am Himmel dunkle Wolken zieh'n Ich nehme artig meine Medizin Und warte hier im Daunenbeet Bis die Sonne untergeht" So Rammstein may be among the sister's clients in Puppe.
