The ring is a protective circle, it is a protective circle that Wukong once casted to protect the monk he was escorting to the west. As long as he's in the protective circle, no lesser demons can harm him.

@@ReggieWolfGaming Well, same thing as a kevlar vest. It can protect you against a lesser bullet, but can't protect you against a greater tank round.

Yep all the different playable forms are the protagonist's transformation. And about why the guai (monsters) are humanoid, wearing clothes and talking, it is something about absorbing the essence of heaven of earth that empowers them to gain intelligence and ability to transform, usually into humanoids. The legendary Wukong (probably not this monkey we are playing tho) is originally a piece of rock transformed into a monkey given a long time absorbing essence of the world/universe. Same as Wukong, all other things like spider, tiger, tree, bird, or inorganic objects can absorb enough essence to gain consciousness, transform into humanoid, learn to speak, and think about meanings of life.

06:36 the ring of fire creates a dome of protection, prevents damage from lesser demons(melee or ranged), and also prevents lesser demons from getting into the dome.

@@ReggieWolfGaming maybe greater demons are able to break that protection dome with certain special high damage moves? or maybe the protection dome has HP bar and a timer, depends on which one goes to 0 first?

you can transform into different monster after defeating them, some requires you to obtain their weapons, some require you to capture them with the Gourd .

This is more like Nioh 2 with the combat speed, 3 different stances you can change to, armor sets that grant stat bonuses when all pieces are worn, and being able to absorb the souls of enemies/bosses you kill and transform into them sort of like Yokai Abilities of Nioh 2. Also, I've heard the game is mission based like Nioh, and not a seamless world.

@@ReggieWolfGaming Nioh 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games of all time. I have 1,000 + hours on both. I have heard that it is not easy to get into them though. All the game mechanics and loot can get overwhelming for a lot of people. I hope you enjoy them.
