TUTORIAL DESCRIPTION:
In this video I am making a resin/polyurethane clock with 9.5 geode tray mold. I will be using Lets Resin casting resin 1:1 ratio. I first drop Lets Resin alcohol inks directly on the mold in the colors of Cerulean,Rose,Aqua Marine,Dark Orchid,Azure Blue and Magenta. Then I pour clear resin on top of that filling the mold half way. I use my heat gun to pop any any bubbles. Once cured, I mix the PU-8oz, I try to mix in the Lightwish starry purple with the part A-nothing shows up- once cured, I drill a hole in the center and add a vinyl swirl pattern to the center of the piece in a rainbow metallic from Tech wrap.Then I add the top coat of clear resin and place the cabochons for the numbers and let cure. then I add the clock mechanism and hands and then outline the outer edge with a gold paint pen. #resin #resinart

My husband was in the family room on his tablet and all I could hear was your voice. I went down into the family room thinking my daughter had put your video up but she was sound asleep with music on. Came back up and here he is watching this video and asking why I hadn't made a big clock for him. Before I could say a word he told me he had what I needed on Amazon and asked if I needed anything else. I'm no dummy, I said yes, I need resin and some more Let's resin inks. No argument out of him, ordered. I didn't want to hurt his feelings and tell him I already had the mold and the clock pieces. :)

What is the preference of using polyurethane vs resin as another layer ? I know it gets done quicker so that’s cool

For me it was that white background, and its solid as a rock. And its quicker🤣 PU is tough and for something that will hang on the wall, less likely to break if it fell off.

Judith, yes they did. When resin starts to cure it pulls to the center, so all the outer colors pulled inward. Does that make sense?
