Great Video. Fitted these to my 2017 MT-09 yesterday. Tip that might help: The throttle side grip was tough to get off even after getting a small screwdriver under it and breaking the glue seal. So I used WD40 with a straw attachment and blasted some oil under the grip from both ends, it then slipped of easily without cutting it off. Just degrease and ensure you clean all of the WD40 off before applying glue. Worked for me so hope this helps.

Hi Rob do you have the serial number/ id number, for the heated grips & the wiring harness kit? How do they compare to oxford heated grips? Are they soft or hard & how comfortable are they, what do they feel like on long trips? With the spotlights will the wiring harness kit, connect strait onto them, so I don't have to hard wire them, Thanks mate looking forward to your reply

youre down under so best thing would be to hit up YMAU, if im correct, They do offer this kit for your MT but its a bit tricky to find mate, Here are the links for your viewing pleasure. yshop.yamaha-motor.com.au/products/universal-grip-heaters and yshop.yamaha-motor.com.au/products/connector-cable-grip-heater As for comfort, they are stiffer material but yet still very comfortable both gloved and bare hands if you wish. Oxford are great products too as you can really dial in to what design you want for grip comfort, the yamaha ones are similar to the Tracer GT style but a bit harder. not easy to explain over email, I personalty enjoy them and comfort no complaints here. I like that the controller is right there and you can change settings without lifting your hand off the grip. The Yamaha MT09 series is spoiled as we have a special connector for it, Yet this grips will work on all and any 7/8 motorcycle bar. some fitment may requires imagination etc... Grip heated part number for Aussi land B67-H29A0-V0-00 mt09wire connect B74-H253L-00-00 if you dont use the connector for your MT09 or dont have a MT09, the grip package does come with a universal battery hookup. super easy to do and lots of safety functions included with it. Cheers mate and have a great weekend...

Hey, I have a big problem and need help! I habe a MT09 2020. The people in my Forum tell me, that the connector is on the LEFT side of the bike (when I am sitting on it) but it also should be a grey connector. And on the right side where the GW fuse is, is that grey connector. So there is that white and grey oval shaped connectors. Which one is the correct one? Thanks!
@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 3 жыл бұрын
It's crazy eh... here I'll get you to do a test with me. I say it's the white one cause this is what happened to me too. I initial thought is was grey one to match up with connections but I'm the end it was white. So please install first on white one. Turn it on and then go to the fuse and white heater is on remove fuse. If heater turn off then we have confirmed together that it's indeed white one! If not then retest same with grey and confirm. I think you will see that white is what you need.. please get back to me... do this before you cover everything back up. Cheers Rob

@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 4 жыл бұрын
hey Jeffrey, as i had mentioned in previous comments to other whether it be this video or my other one where i did a review. I like the compactness of these grips as you have the control right there but i hate to do this but they are not something i would buy or install again for my personal use. the heat of them are not worth compared to what other brands can offer. simplicity to install and use is a great feature but for actual heat function, they barely break the chil mark. i dont Dyer approve. This year I am running the Tenere 700 and i did a lot of though whether i go back again with OEM heaters or go Oxford, well I went Oxford and couldnt be any happier. no they they dont offer a factory into harness connection but thats a simple fix as one would still have to buy the adapter harness for your yamaha ! so buy it anyways and make your own wire connections so that it still connects through your main harness and is fused with the bikes electrical system and works with the ignition. The comfort of the grips and function of the heat settings ! oh boy i can tell you they work !!!! ive yet to set heat more than 75% where even current 25% is as warm as the 100% setting of yamahas OEM grips. what a big difference,... only thing you will need to so is get a good quality glue to make sure they install and stay installed, the included glue is not worth a penny, i suggest Gorilla glue, the original glue, clear light brown in color... that works like a charm too ! you think with heated grips there are greater chances that the glue break cause of constant expanding and retracting during use etc.... I hope this helps but if i were to choose between yamaha oem heated grips and the oxford ones, I would take Oxford again, they offer three types of grips and compounds that suit your needs. Since you would have to do a direct to battery connection you may want to look at the oxford ones.. my pal had them on his bike and I was thoroughly impressed with the optional settings, output warmth and price !!! Only down side is having to find a location for the controller whereas the ones from Yamaha it’s on the grip... If I was to pick out of the two. I would try the Oxford ones next time around. @@itsadyerthing What would you recommend I put it for the FZ09? And what color adapter?
@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 3 жыл бұрын
@@Francisco_VI depends on your draw for gps. Many gps do use more than average power compared to phone. If you are not used heated grips then use that port which use fused to the left side Grey connector. To be sure, remove right side cover and you will have access to the fuses and you will see fuse with name GW. Remove the fuse and test power. If no power then you can confirm Grey connector is fused to that GW fuse box. You can then run higher demand draw for your GPS unit. But if you use grip warmers then keep it designated for that and use your other two options for aux power to gps

@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 6 ай бұрын
These are truly universal for all models and don't even need to be yamaha. Now some models will provide you the option to do a plug and play into a designated port that is controlled by ignition. But for those models that do not have such option then you can connect direct to the battery as the grips also come with a smart feature. Now...... these grips don't get that warm !!!! So personally I would suggest you look at the Oxford Heaterz heated grips they have the sport ones. These ones get hot !!!! Very lovel and also would connect directly to battery and have smart control so you don't kill your power to your bike if you accidentally left on. Only thing that is truly different is the power control box is external from the grip so you need to find a location for it. Generally it's at the bottom of the mirror stem. But I will promise you, you can use either one but will be more satisfied with the Oxford !!! Cheers Rob.

@itsadyerthing
@itsadyerthing 4 жыл бұрын
Hubs! That doesn't sound right mate ! All these connections are ignition controlled so to say they started warming up before you turned on the bike or anything sounds concerning !!! Now did you use a straight to battery connection or did you use the auxiliary additional wire harness to go through the main wire harness (sold seperatly) If you plugged this straight to battery then I understand that you will have straight ok power and that's normal. It does have a low voltage protector built in so that you dont kill your battery. Did you not get any installation instructions? If not then I highly recommend you reach out to Yamaha and ask they email you a copy. Both yamaha motor canada and USA will be able to supply this to you so please dont let it wait too long and get it sorted out asap ! Be safe and keep me posted on your outcome.. Cheers Rob
