I have decided to put these grips on my MT10, thanks for the video, makes me confidant I can do this myself!

THanks for this video. I'm actually commenting just after you mounted the left side grip and I'm not sure if I missed it. Is the heated grip with the controller unit wider or shorter than the stock grip that you have removed?

Hi Richie, couple questions for you. How have these held over over time? Also have you had any issues with uneven heating? Saw a couple other videos where people have had issues with uneven heating. Currently trying to decide between the Yamaha HG or the Oxford HG for my MT-10.

@MichaelThomas-qx7fq7 жыл бұрын
Richies Bikes fantastic mate - Ive been using them this week in 4-8 degrees in Sydney and they're awesome. They seem to warm the whole body up.
@RichieIsf7 жыл бұрын
Michael , thanks for stopping by and for your kind words👍 Yeah sydney has been frosty this week . This morning the ride in from north west was a chilly one . Do you hav a Mt10?
@MichaelThomas-qx7fq7 жыл бұрын
Richies Bikes Sure do, 2016 model. I also live in North West Sydney (Baulkham Hills) - also, nice 1 series!

Good vid mate, are you still going to do the one for the side pods?
@RichieIsf7 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for your comment, What info was you chasing regarding the Side pods.?
@Thetwinking7 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, you said on a FB page that you might do a vid on removing the side pods as they were a pain in the arse.
@RichieIsf7 жыл бұрын
Thetwinking , Yeah mate I will be , they are a slight pain and finding time ATM is a bit rare...
@tinusbekker85354 жыл бұрын
Careful with these. Even with grip glue the throttle came loose frequently. Then mine broke after a year. They started working intermittently and caused a parasitic drain on my battery that left me stranded a few times till I figured it out a ripped them off...
@brianyoung48635 жыл бұрын
The way to remove grips is compressed air. Comes right off
@The330racing4 жыл бұрын
I would NOT use any kind of lubricant on throttle tube or bar where grips will go. Compressed air, and spray a little brake cleaner in each grip and slide them on.

hello from Canada style wise how to the heated grips look? they also look quite a bit larger than stock. -thanks for vids
@RichieIsf7 жыл бұрын
Hi A.p, Hello back for Australia. While they may appear to be thicker then stock , they certainly don't feel any thicker... just warmer . lol

Only problem with these grips is they don't get that hot. My Oxford grips on the previous bike were much better on really cold days.
@RichieIsf6 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, Your right, while i did have a loaner bike once that had the oxfords fitted, they were hella warm, however I chose the Yamaha ones for 2 reasons really, no separate controller and the wife works for Yamaha and I got them at a excellent price.!
@neil2wheels8766 жыл бұрын
I think they're also programmable depending on what capacity bike they're going on so you need to do that before using them. I assume if as bigger cc bikes can generate higher amps for the heating elements so you need to take that into account
@dougiequick1 Жыл бұрын
My Tracer 9gt OEM grip heaters easily get TOO hot! I never set em over 5 out of 10 levels...I am toying with upgrading to MT10 but not if I cant get decent grip heaters
@Banditmanuk Жыл бұрын
@@dougiequick1 I think the Tracer grips are different. The Yam ones on the 10 are controlled by buttons on the inside of the left grip. Wouldn't let it put you off a great motorcycle (I've still got mine 5 years after posting the comment starting this thread)
