Makeup Declutter *The Grand Finale* I DID IT! I got rid of 80% of my collection!

I’ve loved makeup since I was a teen and hit a peak with my collection around 2016. I had sooo much stuff that I never used even half of it. I’ve decluttered so much and I enjoy/actually use what I have so much more now. I used to have 20 lippies in my purse at a time and now I own about 20 total. I also used to have so many eyeshadow palettes and now I have less than 10. Still a lot, but I’ve come a long way!

You have the best declutters on all of UTube! When you declutter you DECLUTTER! I love it! Some other folks say they 'are getting rid of most of their collection' and then they only have poo-poo to get rid of. I like when an influencer that has more than a sephora store be cutthroat and whittle down their TOO much product. ❤ u!

The hardest thing for me to declutter is eyeshadow. I still have palettes from probably 10 years ago? I find that I don’t have emotional connections to other products (aside from my wedding lipstick) but I do have memories tied into eyeshadow palettes. My modern renaissance palette was the first thing I ever bought myself from Sephora and I will probably keep it until the day I die. I’ve even kept it in the box to keep the packaging from getting gross. I also still have my first Natasha denona palette, and some influencer collab palettes.

OMG when you were keeping the lipstick from your wedding and the Benefit 'Dallas', it made me think of this: I have a CHANEL 4-color eyeshadow quad, with these gorgeous champagne & jeweled colors, they are so soft & fluffy when you apply them. The thing is, my BF that I was in love with in Chicago - It's the first present he ever got me and it HAS to be 20 years old, I kid you not. I cannot and WILL not throw it out. LOL!! 😘😘😘

Such a helpful video. I have to stop myself from overbuying makeup. I find a formula I love and then think I need all the shades. I do not! I have to make myself stop and know that I have those shades already and I need to enjoy the one shade I love! It’s helping a lot. I also learned that I have lots of sparkly topper shadows, I do not need to buy the latest brand to come out with another and then I do not need all the shades lol. Those single shadows don’t all get used. I kind of find a favorite and then use that one, over and over until it’s gone. Because I’m like that (now I know) I only need one of something at any one time. My brain freaks out just having one of some things. I have this collector mentality and need to be more picky about what I choose to collect. Like ND palettes = yes. All the Pat McGrath palettes = NO. I have enough. I also have to get out of buying backups of my favorite things. Odds are they will expire or go bad before I need the backup! 😮I forget that I do not go through some products as quickly as I think I do. I go through phases of rotating through things I like and use every day. I am adjusting my thinking to reflect my actual usage and habits. Not an easy task!

Yeeeeyyyy another declutter video. This year actually i brought only replacements and i've used a lot of products. I want to focus on those i really like and try use fewer for each category ( beside foundation and powder blushes) but at least other categories 1-2 products at time and never hoard or buy backups....nope i will buy them when i intend to use them up , so new mindset for me ! I actually never use primers just my sunscreen underneath!

Great job decluttering your makeup collection-it’s such a smart way to start the New Year fresh! I can totally relate; back when I was filming beauty videos, I had tons of makeup and nail polishes. After transitioning to vlog-style content, I ended up getting rid of most of it because I couldn’t use it all-it was just sitting there. Guess that’s the life of a beauty blogger, lol!

An inspirational video, Jess! You did a good job of decluttering...an amazing pile of products to discard, give away, donate. One note, I use the CT stick like a Hollywood Flawless Filter under my makeup OR sometimes I wear just this as my foundation on no makeup days. After applying all my skincare, I do my hair, then I apply the CT stick foundation. Wayne Goss has a good video on how to use the CT stick foundation (I don't really think of it as a foundation, not a good name for it, more like a glowy primer).

I waited and watched both of the declutter videos back to back. You did an awesome job! I'm totally motivated to go through my makeup now! I don't wear a lot of makeup but I love makeup but it just sits there. My goal is to have two makeup bags one with just my favorites for an everyday look and a small one with a few extras for a special occasion look. I think I can do it now. Why do I have 10 bronzers when I never wear it? Do I need 23 lip glosses? 14 blushes basically in the same color? 13 eyeshadow palettes that I save because they are pretty colors but have never worn? I'm ready to be ruthless! Thanks for the motivation!!

Yay love a declutter’ If my old makeup performs as expected, I don’t care how old it is, I’m keeping. The Eborian and Misha are excellent products not well known and very reasonably priced. Ugh it seems like all the TirTir colors run SO yellow! My foundation drawer is bursting. I need to get up there and tend to it, I’ve obviously been influenced lol

The C tones do not. They have a rosy undertone. I bought the mini Silver TirTir as a test (never even started to try the red as I just knew it would look awful on my dry, mature skin) in 17C and tried it on my jaw, to see how the match was with my neck (there isn't a major difference before the sunny days between my face and neck, except for my freckles and a few red patches), and I initially thought: "Huh... is anything getting on that sponge? I don't see sh*t!". Walked into different light, and my jaw dropped; yes, there wás foundation on my face, but it was so exactly my shade it barely showed! I've never ever EVER had that happen to me, and i'm frigging 47 years old 😂. Usually ALL foundations are too yellow (and too dark) for me. I need a bit of rose and blue in my base shades, while them also being suitable for Casper - and that rarely happens. Now, I actually hate how foundations and skin tints look on me ever since I went perimenopausal, so I'm not sure I'll repurchase. I usually apply concealer and that's it. But... if I ever want to apply foundations in the future, I'll for sure get a new silver TirTir in 17C. Long story short: try a C variant 😉.

I miss the mark Jacob's lip gloss in silver surf and I wish I had kept it just for nostalgia. I hope YSL brings back the slim lipsticks they had, I absolutely love them. And I really would love to know how pigmented the merit lip glosses are, it's hard to tell from the site. I prefer bolder color.

I work at a retailer that sells charlotte tilbury and I am always clear to customers that that "foundation" stick is like hollywood flawless filter but in stick form. if you use it that way I think it is a fabulous product but just marketed very poorly!
