Absolute legend this has been my issue with my printer for so long. Thanks so much, also this deserves a sub!

Nice job. I've never done a cold pull. I've been lazy and if I get a clog I usually back the filament out a bit. Heat the nozzle to 250 and shove the needle up the hot end and then let it sit at 250 for a few mins. Then I'll go ahead and try to push some filament out at 250 and if it looks good I let it cool down and try printing again. Worked pretty good for me so far, but I probably need to tear it down and do a good cleaning on it. I use that GST3D filament like you have and I find that filament can sometimes be pretty inconsistent in size, but for the price is worth the little extra hassle once in a while.
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that GST3D is what caused that. I used it on all my printers and after three spools on each they all started clogging. So I threw out the rest of that filament to many impurities in it that clog nozzles. I did some digging and it happens a lot with them. Not a fan so I switched back to my old faithful Inland brand. Stuff is cheap and it prints great.
@Psywar302 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeaDMaDe I'll look into Inland. I've only got a few spools of GST3D left. I can't complain too much. I had 20 spools of it. Only had 2 series clogs where I had to replace the nozzle. Then the rest have all just been heat it all up and melt it all out.

@@Psywar30 I’m glad you had better luck with it. All printers act differently. I know I have two ender 3 pros. Same model and one heats up hotter than another one.

i have this problem now, i got my ender 3 a few days ago and it was working fine on the first day and now nothing is sticking to the bed and some of the filament is curling when coming out of the nozzle and alot of people said its clogged so i will try this and i hope it works

same, first few prints were fine, now it clogs and won’t stick to itself or bed, trying different temps for nozzle and bed, still working on it.

The trick worked well for my ender 3. Thank you for shearing. I have another issue. One of my spool of black PLA starts sleeping from the extruder and the print is not completed as the filament doesn't extrude. Other filaments work properly. Is it the issue of filament ?

Forgot to mention I’m thinking about creating a 3D printing basics series everything you need to know when starting. Would that be something interesting to you? Seems a lot of people are getting into the hobby which is great. Figured I might be able to help.

Hello, I thought I fixed my clogged nozzle. By this I mean I replaced nozzle with new one and trimmed end of boden tube in hot end. When I put it all back together, I was able to push filament through. Then I went to print and it clogged again. Nothing came out of nozzle, 😮 ugh! 😫 What can I do to fix this?? Please help
@EDC3DP9 ай бұрын
On the cold pull are you not supposed to keep it at 90° for PLA and 110° for abs so not to damage the hot end?

Where did you get that Blue-Gear-Shaped knob on top of the filament feeder (at 21:30) would that work on the Ender 3 Max Neo.... that looks really handy! did you print that or buy it? thanks

Rather than put so much strain on the print head and risk bending it out of tolerance, I'd just toss a bunch of clogged nozzles in a 450F oven to heat them up, use pliers or vice grips to hold them, insert filament, let them cool, and then do the cold pull. Plus doing them in batch can likely save time instead of one at a time.

Is the cold pull method safe to do with a direct drive extruder as well? I feel like that might be an issue.
@ItsMeaDMaDe Жыл бұрын
I have to be honest I’ve never done it on my direct drives. I am on your side I feel it’s probably not the best way.
@EDC3DP9 ай бұрын
Unscrew your gear drive tensioner then Bring your temp to zero then bump the temp up to 120 when you get to 90 start lightly tugging it as it heats up until it comes out!

What about hot ends with PTFE? I'm familiar with cold pulls but I hadn't heard to use nylon before. Wouldn't that be a problem for people who don't have full metal hotends? If so, might want to mention that.
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you make a good point. I am using all metal hotends. I guess I’m running under the assumption that people using PTFE “ teflon lined hotend” already understand the hot end temperature limitations. But your right I’ll put it up in my description and pin this comment. And not all PTFE lined hotends have the lining in the hot zone. So it’s really up to the user to understand the hotends they are using. Thanks for the input I do appreciate it

I did this step by step but the esun nylon keeps snapping off (even when a little is put in) when I’m trying to pull it out I now have it stuck in the nozzle and hot end making a small block huge…any suggestions would be appreciated ✨💕
@EDC3DP9 ай бұрын
The nylon is saturated dehydrate it in the over. Look up how to dehydrate wet filament nylon gets brittle when it sits and since it's not used for printing the quality on packaging and water proofing is less
