The way the husband described the grocery store crotch sniffing incident is hilarious [ 1:29 ] "Oohhhh! O'! Oh my God!!!" "I haven't been sniffed there in years!" 😮😅😂🤣❤

Such a cute and sweet dog! I can relate. Our dog is 170 pounds, and it took a while to teach him not to do things like that as he grew out of puppy stage. He isn't a Newfoundland, so we also have had to work hard to teach him to control his guardian instincts (as he isn't naturally so good-natured around strangers). He's made tons of progress.

The Newfoundland dog, a gentle giant for anybody who wanted to cuddle a bear. Their relatively calm personalities make them good pets for neurodivergent people.
@foolishlyfoolhardy60047 ай бұрын
Just like individual people are different, individual dogs are different. You can't say all newfoundlands have calm personalities. That's like saying all autistic people like trains. Let's stop it with these broad generalisations about dogs breeds and personalities. Is the one shown here calm? People need to realise dogs are individuals, you can't determine your dogs personality based on a kennel association standard script. You need to actually meet your dog or puppy (and puppies mother at least) before deciding. This is why people get into trouble like this. Personally, I don't recommend giant breeds for anyone, they're myriad of health issues leads to the potential for massively decreased lifespans. 8-10 years average for Newfoundlands - not good.

@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 I agree with what you're saying, but dig breeds are pre disposed to different personalities. Then, once you get a dog, you adapt to its specific personality and it might not be "perfect" but no dog is completely perfect.

Such a beautiful way to teach such a giant baby and it worked straight away ! It can be very hard, we used to have a Saint so I know!

I had a Newfoundland and when they are a puppy, training is an absolute must because they are so big. Training is more difficult the bigger they get, so you have to be on it for the first 2 years. Consistency is crucial, you have to act before they take an idea in their head to jump all over a guest, run after a dog or pull you towards a cat. Distraction is also a great idea, toy distraction, awesome.

Hearing a child with autism say his first word is incredibly heartwarming! Little Jay Jay saying Duggee’s name as his first word is the best happiness a parent could experience! ❤

The beginning clip reminded me of a Newf we had board at the dog daycare I work at. He stayed for a week and he bulldozed almost every employee we had. We had to trick him to crate him but if you opened the crate for any reason, he bulldozed you to get out, he’d get so excited when a new person came into the playroom that he’d knock you on the ground because he’d always jump on your back. He also looked hilarious because his parents made the poor decision to shave his stomach to “keep him cool” so he looked like he was wearing pantaloons 😂

Stop putting a harness on dogs unless you want to be pulled...
@Grawuar6 ай бұрын
It depends on a dog :) I started using a harness on my previous dog, when she was very ill and could barely walk - in that way I was able to stabilise her and keep her from falling over. But I also noticed she became much calmer and able to move her head around easier, which gave her much more freedom. She was super chill till her last day, when previously she could be quite aggressive. The frustration of not being able to move her head freely contributed to that, I'm sure. Now my second dog walks in a harness from the start (she's a rescue) and can pull sometimes, but is generally well trained and also seems to like the freedom of movement the harness gives. Last thing: I think I heard somewhere the harness has the effect of "hugging" the dog's body, which gives them comfort.
@guardianeris3 ай бұрын
harnesses are better for the dog than leashes, leashes choke the throat and can harm the dog. But what they need is the two roped harnesses so the dog can be better lead
