I very recently beat ornstein and smough with bows only (doing an ultimate dex run and thought it would be fun). Little did i know that i would be trying to beat it for over a year when i started the run. I played on and off for a while but never gave up, or even once tried to beat it without bows. Just an hour ago i won, im still smiling

Nice, I've always wanted to try a bow only run. But its a bit too daunting for me. I'm a classic quality build sword and shield enjoyer. Normal Longsword, Grass Crest Shield. Use that the entire series

Unlikely that he'll read this, but rather than hitting chests to determine if it's a mimic, look at the chain. If the chain loops back and points at itself its safe. If it points at the player it's a Mimic.

My first playthrough, after beating Ornstein and Smough, I entered the chamber and my brain immediately thought “Death by Snu Snu”

What people don't realise at times is that the game gives you the crystal halbert at the start of anor londo in order for you to use it in the Ornstein and Smough fight to make it extremely easier. If you upgrade the halbert to +3 you will 90% of the time first time Ornstein and Smough will no dificulty

I'm sure you probably beat the game by now, but a great soul farming spot is in the painted world where are those weird looking spear guys are in a circle. You can kill them all in like 3 hits and they give a bunch of souls. It is directly across from the bonfire too which is nice.

They're called the hollowed Phalanx from what I remember? Reminiscent of the first Demon Souls' boss. You have to equip the covetus silver serpent ring and symbol of avarice in order to maximise soul farming.

I really like how ds1 weapon hit boxes work, just like any souls game out there, you can accidently hit yhe walls when trying to attack. That could get annoying but its more realistic that way and I kind of love it, it makes combat more difficult. Its a love and hate relationship in a way

If only the enemy's weapons worked the same way. One thing that I loved from this game the first time I played it is that the enemys play with the same rules as you... except this. I find it unfair how they can attack through walls but you can't.
