I can single pin pick just fine, but I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to open a lock with no success using the lishi. It's really hard to control the counter-rotation of the cylinder to allow the pin to fall into place when your tension wrench and pick are attached to eachother. Edit: nvm got it. Don't rely on counterrotation of the cylinder. Just use less tension. I don't find it easier to tell which pin is binding with this tool yet, but I can still open a lock quicker. These are fun, but probably won't replace my standard tools at this point.

My lishi keeps getting caught on something between 2 and 3 I gotta release all tension to move past that point and it becomes impossible for me because all the pins drop I've been trying for days and keep getting caught

@@choymyth713 Try another lock. With my Lishi I can get through the locks on my home extremely fast. But for some reason the locks I have set up at work for practice are much more difficult to pick. Kinda depends on the lock itself.

@@choymyth713some leeche picks are meant for certain brands of locks. The Kwik set version may not work on Shlege (spelling) brand from what I've seen. That's why they got many different ones. Works on cars too. But u need a pick for Honda's, then one for Ford's, then a lichee for Mercedes-Benz etc. Some models like Ford Lincoln mercury lichee covers those 3 brands of cars to open. Theres a GMC lichee that will open any GMC vehicle. I don't think there's a ONE LICHEE to pick them all per se

It's a 2 in 1 because it's a pick and decoder. The numbers on top refer to which pin it is and numbers on the side is the cut for that pin.

I have been practicing with my Schlage lock. It has been behaving strangely and I’m not sure what’s happening. The lock turns in both directions but only unlocks clockwise. When applying tension clockwise, I was always able to bind the first pin and clearly hear a click, but the other pins felt very loose no matter how much tension was applied, and they never bind. When applying tension counterclockwise, I was able to bind every pin and hear clicks along the way. Most of the time, however, the lock didn’t turn even when all pins were set. I did make sure to apply little tension. So far, I’ve only succeeded 3 times counterclockwise, although it doesn’t open the lock. Technically I am only supposed to practice clockwise, but I never succeed that way. Doing it counterclockwise didn’t make it open, but it provided some feedbacks for the very least.

Kwikset's are easy. I had a job where I forgot the key to the house. I cut a piece of aluminum off a piece of flashing, bent a small finish nail for the tension, ran the piece of aluminum in and out a couple of times and it turned. did both a passage and dead bolt in less than a minute and a half. Tried it later on the Schlage at home and it wasn't nearly as easy.

You talked a lot about how great the tool is and it's features but never mentioned the lock type or brand names or even showed the entrance to the cylinder. What most people don't know is that there are many lishi picks for different locks. For the car locks alone there's 1 lishi pick for almost every brand name. Even some popular rand named locks have their own picks. It would be nice to know which locks I can use these picks on. Houses locks, padlocks america and or European.

You can easily say the same about lots of things. There are bad people in the world that will use inanimate objects to do bad things. You don’t need to take things away from people because a bad person might use it for bad things. If you do, you’re just an overreacting Karen that would take fire from people because of arsonists. Or take water away because people have drowned others. We have enough moral busybodies in the world. We don’t need more.

The only one I had trouble with of the lishi was the masterlock lishi. But not really sure if it was a bad one or what

I had trouble with mine also. It would kind of grab randomly for some reason. Almost like it had burrs on the pick. But it didn’t have any. I think it’s due to the short keyway and the angle of the picking tip.

I got the SS001 and it doesn't fit into any of my locks in my house. The key part is thicker than the key holes on all of my doors.

I noticed you said one was 5 pin. And another is 6 pin. But you dident say weather the picks came as 5 or 6 pin types. Or do they make these in other types. I'm shure no berrals but. Are there other types?

I got all the decoders that you'd used for padlocks, residential, and etc and they don't seem to fit into the keyholes that I got from a cheap beginner lock pick set.

The answer honestly is both. You're likely to encounter both lock types. I'd say personally I see more Schlage, but Kwikset is close behind. ~ Rob

@@ITStactical in Canada we don't have Kwikset. But we have a brand named Weiser, I think it's the same as they have the Smart Lock which you can decode the lock.
