ITV 1989 Corporate Identity - Alternative Graphics

My concept was 'glass' and 'liquid metal'
I created these some years ago and had no idea to animate them, so am displaying them merely for posterity

It's called "ITV Logo" and it's By David Dundas. The same guy who wrote the channel 4 logo " Taken from a piece called "Fourscore" and of course he wrote and recorded "Jeans On" which was a jingle for Brutus Jeans then turned into a hit single.

The Scottish thistle really lent itself well to the purple V - as for Thames, that didn't really need any adjustment at all, as the V was the same shape and proportions as the Thames logo itself! Some nice effects on some of those though.

The central one looks far better than the one ITV really used. Then Central may not have plastered the cake all over the ITV generic ident!

Hi brill job on the idents, cetainly compared to the one they use now. It looks like a 5 year old has done it. I worked for Tyne Tees from 1980 -2009 and always thought the use of the graphics and theme tune used ('Get ready for ITV') was classy and up to date. I notice there isn't a Tyne Tees version, just wondering how that would've looked!!!!

@The Three Group Tyne Tees is still operating alongside the other ITV independents, although they've all really lost their regional identity due to the rebranding as just ITV. Hence... ITV Tyne Tees, ITV Granada etc., They've gone towards looking like a national company as opposed to regional ones, given a five year old a tenner pocket money and asked him to come up with the new logo. ITV had kudos before the rebranding, now it's just another channel!!!!!! So sad.
