@amrosik Well think of it like this. Learning a language when you are a baby is easier. You pick it up more naturally but if you're 50 then learning a language is quite a task. Same with music. Learning to do something early will allow you to naturalize it stronger because you are more of a blank slate as a child. As an adult it's tough because our brains are already filled with so much.

Having heard you in an interview comment that you saw notes as colors I have become curious because in antiquity, (second dynasty in Egypt, for instance) notes were seen as colors. A couplt ao thousand years later, in the 5th century CE, a notation system was worked out by the Copts where the notes were assigned colors and where the size of the colored circles indicated 1/4, 1/8th, half and whole notes. In fact, when staff lines first appeared, C and F were the only lines drawn and they were in color. Curiosity has gotten the better of me and I was wondering if you would say what colors you see as C and F.

@punkypenguin321 ...filled with worries. A buddhist monk, who can turn off his brain without falling into sleep, to forget everything else can also learn the violin with ease. if someone want to learn violin with ease, he/she has to stay very cool and chilled. a kid is naturally cool, whereas an adult is maybe too thoughtful.

@punkypenguin321 In the book The "loom of langauge" the author states that an adult can learn a langauge as easy as a child because he can recognize certain things.Like this the word dishonest, in spanish it's dishonesto,in italian dishoneste.Three different languages and all three are similar. The english word fish is fisk in swedish and fisch in danish and pescho in italian which is similar to.pescetarian in english.Cat is el gato in spanish and italian.Bus in english is aftobus in russian

Mr. Perlman, I am currently paractising moto perpetuo (paganini), which I have heard you play (and I think is very well played). Do you have any good tips on practising fast pieces like moto perpetuo? Thank you.

@themetalgod21 Poly-processing independence is only a small part of playing music. This is to imply that drums offer a different type of challenge or set of challenges from violin. Each instrument offers unique obstacles but no one instrument is necessarily "Just plain harder" than any other. So we may conclude that your belief that violin is not the hardest instrument to play is erroneous. In your citation of "The Loom of Language," you meant to say "as easily as a child"

@punkypenguin321 .To have the one limb doing one thing and the other doing three other contrary motions are harder then having the limbs work together. If we are to look at the amount of violin virtuosos compared to drums virtuosos, violin virtuosos out number their counterparts like a million to one .Therefore, we can conclude that the drums are a harder instrument through the number of drum virtuosos we have. Also the word easy was just as effective as easily as we knew what I meant.

@punkypenguin321 Man,we have the grammar police!!!!But seriously, i said drums are harder because Itzak who i see is a really cool guy, implied that the violin is harder to learn.I've played both viola and drums and i can tell you that drums are harder for many reasons.Your playing with 4 limbs, two of which are your legs. You have to have control and sensitivity in your feet and hands and each limb requires different touch and techniques.Independence is the hardest of all things to learn.

the metal. But drummers don't have to work the individual fingers, nor do they need to deal with playing in tune (intonation).

why should it be harder with more age? I mean... a kid, has no worries... maybe thats the only reason why it can practically suck in everything he/she is practicing immediately. But the difference may not be as big as all that
