This is the last of the set of three sonatas and three partitas which Bach completed in 1720 when he was employed in Cöthen.
Christopher Nupen about the performance:
"A memorable performance of the Bach partita shot live at a public concert in London which helped us to learn that there is almost always a depth to live performance on film that is frequently missing from studio performances."

I could focus on nothing BUT his disability...I'm a lib. Wish he were a colored person. It's ok to say that. We libs can do anything...POC = People of COLOR, so logic dictates that the connotation is "colored people". Aren't we libs special masters?😁 First and foremost, one's skin color allows me to know how to treat them special, like a token, or caricature of their colored correspondence race. Because equality, or is it equity? MLK frowns.

Excellent, and very talented, Master Violinist. Beautiful, and energetic, composition. I'm now a fan of Mr. Perlman's. I've always been a fan of Mr. Bach's since before my birth, when Mom would lay there and sleep to classical with headphones on, and put headphones on ber belly bump for me. She noticed that when I was a baby, and fussy, all she had to do was put the classical on and I'd calm down and get content, faster if it were to be Bach. Later if I was being a hyper child, it was like, "Ok, time for a classical calm down session!" That's what expecting Mother's need to do, start your baby on music before they're born, and it'll help out later. Not too early, when you have no bulge obviously, but once you're starting to get out there, just hook the headphones around your belly, and with not too much volume (comfortable for your ears, not too low though or it won't be heard through the amniotic fluid,) and get them to liking it and when they're babies and children, that music will calm them. Sure worked for me, then at five I started branching out into my own calm down music choices that was highly influenced by the music of the 80's. Phil Collins, Culture Club, Thompson Twins, George Michael, Peter Gabriel, Sting, etc, but there was always classical, to this day forty years later...

Syllogism An instance of a form of reasoning in which a conclusion is drawn from two given or assumed propositions (premises); a common or middle term is present in the two premises but not in the conclusion, which may be invalid (e.g. all dogs are animals; all animals have four legs; therefore all dogs have four legs ). Deductive reasoning as distinct from induction. doesn't seem to make sense in this context.

Pas du tout! Il est reelment degoutant de le voir quand il commence a pleurer comme un imbecile. Il fault voir Hilary Han et sa facon de jouer avec son violon. Elle est REELMENT SUPERBE, mais comme pas cet imbecile perlman...!I decided to stop watching this clown playing his fiddle as soon as it stated watching the video!!! It is disgusting to see this perlman clown crying and throwing boogers on his violin while he plays...! I see Hilary Hahn playing AMAZINGLY and BEAUTIFULLY without those revolting faces as the ones from this perlman... Bravo, Hilary. You are the BEST!

badger4382 She is a superb player. And she is also one of the great citizens of music. And by that I mean that she cares deeply about music, about the people who play it, and about the audience. The same is true of Perlman. You may not like his playing. But beyond playing, he, like Hahn, has used his fame and influence to help people, to make the musical world a kinder and more caring place, to teach and nurture others, to make the whole process of music education more welcoming and less stressful for countless people. Art is important, but helping and caring for humanity is important, too.

I don't play the violin, but I know that he's continually having to alternate between two strings (sometimes three) at about 1/6-second intervals. That seems super-human to me. But for him, it's all in a day's work. Absolutely amazing, and done with great beauty and precision. It's inspiring to realize that there are humans who can actually do this -- and that even in 1720, Bach assumed that there were.

I find the prelude in equal measure beautiful and exhausting to listen. Sometimes it just sings, and the resolutions and non-resolutions (or what do you call them) are so beautiful - but it's also so relentless.
