I've been an IU fan for 40 years through thick and thin, and this ranks right up there with some of their greatest moments in terms of significance in light of all the program has been through..... I appreciate that Calapari also recognized this and was gracious in the loss and in his after game comments..... Gotta Love them Hoosiers......! Sweet victory.....!

just watched this video for the 971-973rd time. i was born in bloomington and was a freshman at iu when they made that run to the championship game in 2002. this brings a tear to my eye every time. it doesnt matter what anyone says, this was a great game all around with one of the most electric atmospheres ever (i could feel it through the tv, eventhough i didnt have the balls to actually watch the last five minutes).

Best game I've ever been to. But I must say, the best part is not even IU winning - it's seeing the stunned looks on Kentucky's faces. It's seeing the crowd's reaction, and seeing the blue in the crowd get suddenly swallowed up by a sea of red leaping into the air as that ball passes through the hoop. AMAZING

Love Don Fischer's call. Use to listen to him all the time on the radio when IU wasn't on TV. IU has great recruits coming. Each player on this IU team can shoot. No one is a liabilty. Zeller is just going to get stronger.

It came over the wire today that the IU UK series is coming to an end. The end of a great rivalry between these two here clubs. This video is the last regular season meeting, at least for the time being, between these two. And it was one to remember. IU UK was one of college basketball's prominent rivalries. I am very sad to see it go, and I am neither an IU nor a UK fan.

@aceace14 my family's season tickets are right behind the IU bench. Crean and 2 of the assistant coaches were recruiting hard before the start of the game, came behind the bench and were talking to the group of recruits (of which there were at least 5 or 6 sitting next to us). The kids all had their phones out recording the crazy atmosphere at the start of the game just in awe of the place. If this game doesn't convince those kids to come play for IU, I'm not sure anything will.

@61fullspeed I can guarantee that was 100% accurate. My undergraduate degrees are from IU-Bloomington, and I can confirm that they do celebrate in the streets after big win like this, especially against a rival like Kentucky or Purdue. It's nice to see something go well for the Hoosiers. I was at IU when Knight was fired, and they've had quite a few messes to contend with since that time.

IU men’s basketball Coach Tom Crean committed a secondary recruiting violation Oct. 6 while contacting a prospective student athlete, according to the IU Athletics Department. The contact availability with recruits ended Oct. 5, but Crean had contact with a high school senior the following day. In the release, IU will reduce the number of recruiting days in person by two days to 128 days.

What a wonderful part of the college experience to have a game like this, to be so excited you rush the floor! These kids will NEVER forget this game! Hell, I won't forget it & I watched on TV!! Great game against two awesome opponents! I didn't like all of IU's turnovers, as evidenced by the last two minutes of the game. When Mr Watford drilled that 3 as time expired, I yelled at the tv, "Are you kidding me?!?!" Why didn't Kentucky foul? Great game! Expect it to be on ESPN for awhile, as opposed to the Cincinnati vs. Xavier disgrace.
