Amen.In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. Then joining his hands before his breast, he begins the Anthem .Introibo ad altare Dei.I will go into the Altar of God. Ad Deum que lactificat juventutem meam. To God Who rejoiceth my youtth. In Masses for the Dead, and from Passion Sunday till Holy Saturday exclusively the following Psalm 42 is omitted. Judica me, Deus, Et discern causam meam de gente non SANCTA: ab homine iniquo Et deloso erue me. Judge me O God and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. C. Quia tu es, Deus, fortitudo mea: quare me repulisti Et quare tristis incedo dum affligit me inimicus? C. For Thou O God, art my strength; why hast Thou cast me off? And why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? P. Emitte lucem tuam, Et veritatem tuam: ipsa me deduxerunt Et adduxerunt in montem sanctum tuum Et in tabernacula tua. P. Send forth thy spirit and Thy truth: they have conducted me and brought me into Thy holy mount and into Thy tabernacles. C. Et Introibo ad altare Dei: ad Deum qui lactificat juventutem meam. C. Our help + is in the Name of the Lord. C. Qui fecit coelum Et terram. C. Who made heaven and earth. Then joining his hands and humbly bowing down, he says the CONFITEBOR: P. Confiteor Deo omnipotenti Beatae Mariae semper Virgini, Beato Michaelo ArchAngelo Beato Joanni Baptistae sanctis Apostolis Petro Et Paulo omnibus Sanctis Et tibi Pater; quiz peccavi nimis cogitatione verbo Et opere, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Idea precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem beauty Michaelem ArchAngelum beautum Joannem Baptistam sanctos Apostolos Petrum Et Paulum omnes Sanctos Et te pater or are pro me ad Dominum Deum nostrum. I confess to Almighty God to blessed Mary ever Virgin to blessed Michael the ArchAngel to blessed John the Baptist to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul to all the Saints and to you Father that I have sinned exceedingly in thought word and deed, through my fault through my fault, through my most grievous fault. C. Misereatur tui omnipotens Deus Et dimissis peccatis tuis per ducat te ad vitam aeternam. C. May Almighty God be merciful to Thee and forgiving thy sins, bring Thee to everlasting life. The Priest answers: Amen. The Clerk says the CONFITEOR: P. Confiteor Deo... P. I confess to... Then the Priest with his hands gives the Absolution: P. Misereatur vestri omnipotens Deus Et dimissis peccatis vestris per ducat vos ad vitam aeternam C. Amen. C. Amen. Signing himself with the sign f the Cross, he says: P. Indulgentiam absolutionem Et remissionem PECCATORUM nostrorum tribuat nobis omnipotens Et misericors Domins. P. May the Almighty and most merciful Lord grant us pardon absolution and remission of our sins. C. Amen. C. Amen. Bowing down he proceeds: P. Deus TU conversus vivificabis nos. P. O God Thou being turned towards us wilt quicken us. C. Et plebs tua laetabitur in te. C. And Thy people will rejoice in Thee. P. Ostende nobis Domine misericordiam tuam. P. Show us O Lrd Thy mercy. C. Et salutare tuum da nobis. C. And grant s Thy salvation. P. Domini exaudi orationem meam. P. O Lrd hear my prayer. C. Et clamor meus ad te veniat. C. And let my cry come unto Thee. P. Dominus vobiscum. P. The Lord be with you. C. Et cum Spiritu tuo. C. And with Thy spirit. First extending then joining his hands the Priest says audibly OREMUS: then ascending to the Altar, he says: Aufer a nobis quaesumus Domine iniquitates nostrae: ut ad SANCTA Sanctorum puris mereamur mentibus intro ire. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen. Take away from us our iniquities we beseech Thee O Lord that we may be worthy to enter with pure minds into th Holy of Holies; through Christ our Lord. Amen. His hands joined and bowing down over the Altar the Priest says: Oramus te Domine per merit Sanctorum tuorum. We beseech Thee O Lord by the merits of Thy Saints, He kisses the Altar. Quorum relique hic sunt Et omnium Sanctorum ut indulgere digneris omnia peccata mea. Amen. Whose relics are here and of all the Saints that Thou wouldst vouchsafe to forgive me all my sins. Amen. In Solemn Masses the Altar is here incensed. The Priest signing himself with the sign of the Cross reads the INTROIT of the day.
