Lot of issues to hydrogen cell vehicles to be accepted by mass, 1) need more money to install hydrogen filling station than charging station. 2) getting better performance from battery than hydrogen vehicle and also initial pulling is less but toyota managed to get good power from its vehicle, 3) hydrogen is not freely available, need electrolysis to separate hydrogen which is only 40% efficiency and hydrogen car using this hydrogen is only again 40% efficient, means hydrogen car consumes 2 or 3 times electricity than battery car to travel same distance. Only one thing in favour of hydrogen it can travel more distance than battery car but battery cars are catching up. These are few, so many problems need to be addressed here, refuelling station, new process to obtain hydrogen from cng or biomass also Operating cost should be reduced. For the time being battery vehicle is the future because it can charge from the grid and low cost to install charging stations compared to hydrogen refilling station. You can see this from the count of charging station vs hydrogen refuelling station across the world. Now nothing favours hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
