3 goals for him on the season. Don't you remember his first goal? Off the post, got his own rebound and put it in
@davidrmouck5608Күн бұрын
That first goal wasn't a shot off the post. In fact, it was a bounce pass back to himself so he could collect the primary assist and the goal. He's really that good 😉

Great to see people jumping on the Kapanen bandwagon. Seeing him play at least 15 times live including at the IIHF he is the real deal. IMO let him play in Timra this season and then he will easily be 3C on Habs with Dvorak and Evans (both UFAs) away.

I have something similar but a vet is needed in the forward group. As for the D Xhekaj is absolutely needed in the top 6 lineup he brings so much to the team. Matheson should be traded soon after Hutson takes over and then have a vet 7th D. Don’t forget about Konyushkov either. For goalies I can see Fowler - Montembeault while Volokhin takes time in Laval. Vets are important to any winning organization and the Habs have a great problem of so much young talent that will all hit their prime at the same time. Super exciting time to be a Habs fan!!

I was about to let myself get as excited as Josh on Ivan's truly superb 4 points night but then I remembered Sochi holds the record for being the very worst defense in the history of the KHL (an abysmal record they established in 2023 and equalled last season), so i'm managing to keep this under control. For Now. He is gaining in confidence game after game, is already able to setup goals to more players than Kuznetsov and Denudov who are with him on this line. It's amazing how fast he is adapting to this league.

Like the optimism and for good reason. Top prospects stood out in the rookie showcase games. Demidov showing his elite skills in the KHL First day of camp and you see the competition is already intensifying for roles on the team. Young guys serving notice that they are here to compete. Just what you want to see. Know it will make trading veterans easier if you know you have the solid replacement in house. KH is crafty and he probably has already been in discussions of interest with other teams. He will pull all the levers to make the best deal for the Habs going forward. Especially if they feel prospects are ready to make the jump to the NHL. Looks like he is going to be a busy guy.

@LarryLevantine8 сағат бұрын
Michkov was benched and then loaned to Sochi in his draft+1 season because SKA was trying to force him into a contract extension to stay in Russia. If Michkov was loaned out because of his play or his attitude then your assessment would be more accurate but we know that isn't the case here. Michkov carried a bottom feeder team and led them with 41 points in 47 games as an 18-19 year old. Most people would say that's far more impressive than playing on the league's best team, a team that scores almost double the goals as Sochi, while completely surrounded by the very best talents in Russia like kuznetsov, and putting up comparable scoring numbers to Michkov.

There's many factors here. He's playing for the best team in the league against one of the bottom feeder teams. He's playing alongside the very best players in the KHL like Kuznetsov. And one of his goals was an empty-netter from the far side of the ice.
