Story goes that the scene was cut at the request of Radio City Music Hall. Apparently, when they were showing the movie there, management found that all the bubbling and dripping water in that first part of the scene was making little kids have to pee (often not leaving the theater to do it). Radio City Music Hall management was getting tired of cleaning seats and asked Disney to cut the scene. Disney complied, and (for whatever reason) kept the scene out from almost all other releases up until recently.

I think they deleted the cauldron bit because it probably looked too much like the witches' chant in Shakespeare's "Macbeth"... but that's just my guess.
@puzzle10226 жыл бұрын
Do you think it's possible that it may have had something to do the with the Macbeth Curse superstition. In the theater business it's considered bad luck to say the name "Macbeth" (you have to refer to it as "The Scottish Play") or quote passages from the play, unless your performing it. According to one legend I heard: when he was writing the play, William Shakespeare spied upon a coven of witches and stole one of their chants that is now the famous witches' chant in the play. When they found out what Shakespeare had done, the witches placed a curse upon the play itself. Again this only applies to those in the theater business. You can't say the play's name unless your performing it (refer to it as "The Scottish Play"); and never quote any passages from it unless your performing it. Maybe Walt Disney wanted to avoid any bad luck caused by the curse if the scene appeared too similar to the scene in the play. But hey, I'm just speculating.

why wasn't the cauldron part added in the film?!!

My guess is because of timing and it would make the movie longer. (But that’s just my guess)

I wouldn't show this movie to my kids at all. This scene made me anxious as a kid.

I think it definitely depends on the kid. It was my personal favorite movie as a kid, but I can understand why it would produce anxiety for other people.

@@kaileighrow3654It was my favorite too, but like, it was the only part that scared me. The rest is pretty fun. For me, a great villain has to be scary.

Anyone else thinks that the skeleton is the remains of the huntsman who saved Snow White’s life?
@STIAI_CA_Alin_Decean6 жыл бұрын
CastielDestler impossible when she finds out that the huntsman didn't kill snow white she automatically went to transform herself. so she was the Witch, not the Queen who ordered to kill the huntsman. and it takes months so transform into a skeleton, not 2 days. It's a slave probably. You can see coffins and corpses when she go into the cavern to transform, when she go downstairs.
@shannamartinez94946 жыл бұрын
CastielDestler No, because I don't think enough time passed.
@yvonnetroy43256 жыл бұрын
Don't think so, the queen went straight to transform herself and prepare poisoned apple as soon as she found out the Snow White heart was counterfeit. There isn't enough time for the huntsman to turn into a skeleton even he had been killed rite after his return.

Disney was actually asked to tone down their villains after this film because theatre owners were complaining about having to re-upholster their chairs as little kids were quite literally peeing themselves in terror when the witch came on.
