Thanks so much for posting this. Could you maybe explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

@@xcalabur18 Of course!! Wondering if I should make a video on it too because I always wondered how it would be too. So they put an IV in my arm with a drip bag about an hour before the procedure and after I was in my procedure gown. Pretty sure it was just a saline solution at that point. I was attached to the IV cart so if I had to use the restroom, I just rolled the cart with me. They were able to get the IV in on the first try, so that part didn’t bother me at all. At my facility they actually walked me back to the procedure room and I got on to the table. Once I was up there, they put on a blood pressure cuff on my arm and then used straps on my legs to prevent my legs from falling during the retrieval. They spoke to me for a bit while they did everything and then began to administer the medication and let me know when they were doing it. After that I woke up back in my original room. There was no way I could’ve stayed awake! lol. It was definitely a wide awake to instantly out experience. It felt like it took a while to come out of the groggy state. I had a lot of eggs and was already extremely uncomfortable going into the procedure because of the all pressure from ovaries and I woke up in pain, which they provided meds for through my IV as well!! Hope this helps! :)

What made you guys do icsi?? Does it mean better results for people with pcos or hypothyroidism? Or was there male factor infertility?

It was recommended by our RE. We had four IUIs with no success and there was slightly low motility but nothing crazy. We had great success with it - 8 embryos in total!

@ ohh okay we have the same thing. I was diagnosed with pcos a few years ago. We also have some male factor infertility, we did one unsuccessful iui. I haven’t heard much of icsi but with your results I think I will look into that. Now that I am older I want to do what will give us the best results.
