In the comic's Lance the Pants won the final part of the contest by actually fixing the projector, Granted he cheated, He still won. A.V kid Told The other 2 that and i quote "I only let you 2 go this far for goof's man, You 2 are so gullible. The av kid needs to know how to do this stuff regardless of how they get it done, Cheating included." T.J then tried to prank A.V Kid to get back at him but A.V kid already though of this and locked the door leaving the key 6 inches away from the door in the hallway, Just long enough for T.J and Vince to get the key within a few minutes giving A.V kid enough time to leave peacefully. T.J Noted down that he learned that sometimes its best not to fight over a position your not well versed on. Vince noted that he learned that he they can't trust 6th graders too much anymore and that T.J is willing to even play dirty against him (In the comic's during the race T.J Put gum on the floor that made Vince almost fall but because he almost fell he ended up speeding up and beat T.J's time.

Oh yeah in the comic it didnt come down to 3 kids it came down to 4 and Spinelli for what ever reason was the 4th kid, she just wanted to fake a loss and help T.J win (In the comic's her crush on T.J is a prominent thing about her character and she will always try to help him win no matter what.)
