The only really huge resource France was getting from this part of Africa was Niger's uranium. Meanwhile, the countries formerly hosting Franch troops are doomed without foreign protection. The last few months Russians in Mali have been obliterated in battle, twice, by Berbers and jihadists. Burkina Faso in on fire since the withdrawal of Franch troops. No "prosperity and sovereignty" will follow from them expelling French troops, only more fire and blood. The French don't really need Africa, at least West Africa, for much more than strategic importance. This shots aimed at France will hurt them hundereds of times more than France/Europe itself. Just to get occupied by Russia and/or jihadis
