Can't wait to get my copy. I think this will be one of my absolute favorites. What I really like is that there are pages with just a bit to color in, not huge projetcs.

Thank you for the review. This went on my wishlist right away. I could see doing a wash on the text areas to tie them all together and have nice color on every page. You could use the same wash on all the text areas or tie it in with whatever is on the page.

Interesting. I received the US version today as my preview copy. I would have thought that it would be cheaper to Australia from the UK. I usually always try to order from UK Amazon for that reason, it keeps the shipping costs down. I'm certainly not complaining, though. I'm still floored to be included on the preview list ( I kinda' might have pre-ordered it from the Book depository half a year ago, lol) and receiving the pencils as well was just so sweet. lovely review, Claire. I was curious as to what the UK version looked like.

Hi Peta, thanks for your comment. Firstly I'm a huge fan of you & your channel, you are my No.1 colourist and I adore everything you colour! Now that gushy intro is over, onto your comment 😂 Johanna & her team have been so incredibly generous this year haven't they? I was amazed that not only did I get an advance copy, but that it was personally signed with my handwritten name, and the inclusion of pencils too! Colourists & bloggers have been receiving packages all over the world and I'm so glad you got one too! I can't wait to see what you do with it- a colour-along would be fab! I'm so happy you liked my review and I will look out for your US review soon :D

Peta Hewitt actually I buy from the US as every item I want is cheaper and so is the postage buying from the US and not the UK where I thought the same as you Peta that the UK would be cheaper. Of course I don't have my book yet but how generous of Johanna to send a copy so far from what I've seen to every KZbin colourist. I'd love to know which cover is preferred from anyone who has both. It interests me to know why two different covers are needed whether they're different printers or not. Like Peta my book will have the US cover bought here in Australia. Thanks for the review Claire. Wonderful review Claire! I like the idea of a story book mixed within a coloring book. I have enough books to color already, but this one I might have to get, just because it is different from any other coloring book I've seen so far. Thanks for the great detailed review, and giving tips on how some pages could be colored. Very interesting! :)

Clare I know you don’t use much water but does it buckle the paper at all, I would like to do the bees as you did, but I also thought of using these paints for the dragons

So I got the book a week ago and I JUST LOVE IT. However I actually got water on one page and it bled through on the other side . The paper mate flaire pens don’t bleed though but it did because of the water. Any ideas on blending to cover up the bleed through???

Thanks for the flip through! I’ve got this one on my wishlist! I have Lost Ocean and Secret Garden but I’m not a fan of the paper quality. I have not seen her Christmas book or Magical Jungle in store to see the difference in paper quality. ♥️Faith

+Sharlene Lam Binding is great- you can manipulate the spine to lie somewhat flat, and there’s no illustrations in the centre at all xx

Question- I just got my us version of this book. It is beautiful but the binding is glued and my pages are coming apart. Is your version sewn in the binding? If so I'm ordering yours immediately on book depository and returning this mess...

The binding is excellent on the UK version and somewhat hit & miss on the US version from what I've heard. I would definitely recommend the UK version's binding based on the comparison post Colouring in the Midst of Madness did x

That's funny. You say everything can be colored, but in the Danish versions of her books, the cover is absolutely not for coloring. It's a sad plastic covering and I'm always so sad seeing that. Otherwise, I loooove her coloring books. Thanks so much for the preview, can't wait to get one.
