Great review! Speaking of small details, I really like the subtle IWC logo on the strap clasp :)

Just bought this piece. Older version with UTC at 12 position. Nice review

Wow that UTC looks great, I have the same without the UTC complications, it's accurate to less than 3 seconds a week, effectively it loses 3 seconds weekly and needs adjusting weekly to increase its accuracy. I am not sure if this is a keeper albeit with strong residuals. It is greatly understated and this review captured my opinion of this great piece. I went to sell it last week to fund a date just but backed straight out of the deal as the IWC as a brand is only heading in one direction with even stronger residual value in the future.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, I greatly appreciate it! I'm happy that you like IWC, I think they have some nice pieces and I look forward to where the brand is heading. You might enjoy my other videos too, let me know ;)

I honestly think that the one without UTC, mark xvi spitfire, looks better, the UTC doesn't quit fit into the design of the dial.

Is it using ETA or inhouse movement?

I honestly hate IWC as a brand. So over priced. Resale value is 50% less than MSRP. Customer service sucks and their accuracy is horrible. Not to mention mostly basic ETA movements. I sold all 3 of mine and will never buy them again.

Thanks for your feedback, that is a shame. This is not my watch so I can't judge based on accuracy. Keep in my mind, the resale value on most watches are significantly less than retail.

Resale is not 50% of MSRP, but I agree that many of there pieces are still overpriced. Accuracy is fantastic for me, and I've never heard that complaint. My 10 year old, never-serviced Mark XVI still constantly averages +2.5 seconds a day. Crown action is still superb. This is common from what I've read. I can't speak of customer service. They are now putting in-house calibers into more and more of there watches, but TBH, my favorite medium was preel-2011 when they heavily modified ETA movements themselves.
