MAD at some point tried to milk Elyoya for a massive buyout, RGE sold Hans and Inspired to NA because they wanted a big buyout. FNC had Nisqy stuck in contract jail. It just happened more with G2 because, unlike other teams, they actually have players other teams want.

i think it is actually not legal but no player has ever fought for it in a court of law. But there has to be a law by German or European jurisdiction that prohibits this. The interesting thing about Rekkles is that there's a lot of drama surrounding him and a lot of issues he's had with coaches / players that he never references. And what I find interesting about it is that Rekkles DID have drama/conflict with KC Kameto. Kameto flamed the hell out of Rekkles as a player coming out of Karmine Corp putting him on blast for his player behaviour and yet Rekkles still sees KC as having "saved him" and is still very clearly thankful for KC and his time there. And I think that lack of defense, while yes, obviously part of it is because he genuinely probably feels at fault, that's kind of the point? It's interesting to me that he'll stand up to / call out / defend himself against the two biggest orgs / fanbases in all of EU (FNC & G2) because to me it suggests that he doesn't feel like his player behaviour and/or in game performance was SO BAD that he deserved to be benched early. Which, I mean, when you look at the stats and talk of that G2 2021 roster, Rekkles was kind of the only player people were talking about, right? He got Spring MVP, he was looking really good on Kai'sa and with the Senna-Sion combo with Miky, it was the season Caps changed his name as a reflection of his own poor play. And not only did Rekklse get benched but so did Miky, Jankos, Wunder & the entire coaching staff. G2 went full nuke on the roster for one bad season "bad" season the first season they'd changed their lineup in 4 years, knowing they'd sold their shotcaller (Perkz) hiring someone they knew NOT to be a shotcaller (Rekkles) and in a season where they finished first (14-4) in regular season. ONLY took losses to MAD Lions & Rogue (the finalists of the tournament - ergo FNC also took losses to them). Went 12-6 finishing second in Summer. And then the only reason they DIDN'T make Worlds is because they took a loss to MAD who won the tournament and then they grinded out a very very very very very close 3-2 that could've gone either way vs. FNC who was on a miracle run and who there other finalists of said tournament. But if G2 won that match, then guess what? G2 goes to Worlds. G2 goes to face MAD in the Finals. And it's FNATIC that fails to go to Worlds for the first time in like 5 or 6 years. And I think there's AT LEAST a question to be asked of like, could there have been a line to be discussed for Rekkles deserving to be benched. You have to remember, too, Rekkles got 3 POG in Summer. Was the series MVP for their 3-2 win over Schalke in the Spring Playoffs. Had 5 POG in Spring AND was the Spring MVP. And A LOT of that was written off at the time as, oh it's Rekkles, he just wins it by default and I don't think that's true. That's been proven to not be true because you know who was given Series MVP in 2020 when FNC beat G2 in the upper bracket? Selfmade.

There's two issues. One is that G2's strength was far below it's former level. A close series to Schalke isn't good. Losing to Mad maybe acceptable but isn't good. Losing the Fnatic too isn't good when Fnatic had degraded. The other is, G2 doesn't blow up an entire roster if they had an off day or an off series. The standards weren't good enough. Then the next season with Flaked and Targamas (both who are now not regarded as good players) they immediately won the league. It doesn't really matter how close they were to qualifying for worlds, G2's targets are winning the splits and having a solid chance of winning worlds. Not qualifying for worlds. So it wasn't good enough with the 2021 roster.

They got 3-2'd in the opening losers bracket of Spring Playoffs and missed MSI. It's only ironically been 2024 where they've won every split again and they're making changes again. I get why with Skewmond being as hyped as he is and Yike struggling with the eye test at internationals. But that's kinda my point. If you apply the eye test to that 2021 roster, Rekkles was never the reason they were losing those games. Like you can look at the Fnatic roster of 2023 and you can see really blatantly obvious times Rekkles screwed up, not hitting the nexus vs. MAD, not always being there at a teamfight when he should have been, and there was a number of times he was caught out / jumped on without his support. But I don't think he was the issue in G2. The real thing is, the only scenario that feels justifiable to me is if Caps had personal issues /w Rekkles, because yes, if you're gonna bank between Caps (Who did fail the eye test and had a shitty year) and Rekkles (who passed the eye test but hasn't been your star player for the last 3 years straight) and Caps is literally saying it's him or me, then of course you keep Caps. But I do think G2 does just as well, if not better, running BB-Jankos-Caps-Rekkles-Targamas or BB-Jankos-Caps-Rekkles-X because Rekkles has ALWAYS played with and preferred a vocal / playmaking toplaner (see: Huni, SoaZ, Bwipo) and I think BB would've fit better than Wunder. That said, I'm not sure if Wunder or Miky deserved to be kicked, either. I feel Miky was playing fine. Him & Rekkles won literally every botlane and every win they got came directly through them. Or came through Rekkes playing Seraphine and keeping Caps alive. I do feel like I recall being disappointed in Wunder on the eye test and that he was at a weaker year, too, along with Caps.

Rekkles might have been the best player in the world, it wouldn't matter, if the results aren't there. There were major synergy issues within the team, largely due to replacing Perkz with Rekkles. Perkz was a shot caller, and played a more greedy style as ADC. Rekkles plays independently, and arrives at teamfights. I do think though you're a huge Rekkles fan and that's affecting your argument. Rekkles didn't have good DPM. He was far below Upset and Carzzy. Carzzy aswell was on average losing lane, having less gold, and still dealing almost 15% more damager per min. Rekkles has always been criticised for being a KDA player. And he isn't willing to die in team fights or make plays that will win you the game. The other thing is you don't see scrims either. I think the issue is the team balance was off. You have not enough carries. Rekkles and Wunder both wanted to play without much gold. Only Caps was a real carry threat.

Rekkles complaining about FNC there feels a bit in bad taste: it was FNC that gave him his first change to play professionally and then he left to NA (where he didn't do very well). Then he came back to FNC where he played for years until he left again for G2 (where he did fine but not amazing). After playing in KC he came back for the third time to FNC and he did not perform well at all so they decided to bench him. I'm sorry but in this relationship i can't see FNC as the bad guy.

i love rekkles and respect him for his career in fnatic, but he is the one making questionable, disrespectful moves and then he wonders why the org treats him badly. first he goes to alliance (which rebranded to elements) in spring 2015, which was essentially fnatic no1 competition, cause they won summer 2014 split. sadly for rekkles, alliance/elements with him on the squad ended that split on 7th place, not even making playoffs - next split he came back to fnatic with a tail between his legs. like alright, i get it, fnatic lost summer 2014, then xpeke, cyanide, soaz all left - rekkles has only been with fnatic for 1 year at that point so he didnt have to feel special connection to the org and maybe thought alliance was a better option with froggen, shook, wicked and nyph, than new uncertain fnatic roster. but fast forward 5 years, he leaves for fnatic biggest rivals, g2, after he has made a name for himself and being essentially fnatic biggest icon. first caps leaves, then rekkles. does he even know how much fans have been hurt by this shit? fans that have been cheering for him since his day one on fnatic? idk why g2 made him contract jailed, but fnatic jailing him after getting abandoned by his legend for 2nd time, for their biggest rivals, is something understandable. i would love to know the insights of rekkles leaving for alliance/g2, but from fans perspective this looks like being unfaithful to the org that gave u everything, chasing for orgs that were successful at the time, and also fnatic biggest rivals so yeah dude, i feel sad for u and shit, but next time maybe dont leave org that made u into europe superstar for their biggest rivals. go to na or something

I cant help but feel like this is rekkles fault somehow, going to the ORG with reputation of fucking over their players that made his signature player (perkz) retire to NA, he ditched FNC at the last moment for their BIGGEST rival, and when you come back you play in a less than stellar way, FNC owned him nothing at that point, they had 2 atrocious splits and wanted to rebuild. Besides didn't he swapped to support WHILE he was playing in FNC? what was FNC supposed to do?

If i remember correctly the decision to bench rekkless was made before he swapped. I think he said it in the interview with caedrel. That interview was pretty interesting in general. Especially his impression of korean culture. Definitely worth watching. Also idk how anyone can fault a player whose goal is to win worlds to decline the opportunity to play in the team that had the best chances to do so in the west.

The things that happened to Perkz happened in parallel to what happened to Rekkles, so the G2 reputation of fucking over players was not known until after Rekkles signed into G2 and Perkz left for NA. You can blame Rekkles for leaving but you can't blame him for wanting to play for a better team, the team mind you that had his previous teammate Caps in it. It's like saying Rekkles isn't allowed to get promoted in his own career line when he's been working years for it. He also said in his interview with Caedrel that in hindsight, he shouldn't have left FNC in the first place or should have been more careful about where to go next IF he had known about his autism diagnosis, so he recognizes that it was partially his fault.

i love fnc but they brought their downfall on themselves. back in 2018 when caps was leaving for g2, fnatic was still the most decorated eu team, so it didnt make sense for caps to leave for worse team with less success at that time. mind u, back in november 2018 fnatic with caps on squad were summer split champions and worlds finalists. back in 2018 fnatic had 7 splits won, g2 had only 3. caps left because he thought g2 had better platform to bring him international success, and fuck me if caps isnt some sort of faerie, but he was damn right. fnatic was still holding on for the next 2-3 years after he left, i mean they won 0 splits since his departure, but atleast they were competitive against g2. maybe the history would be different if they won summer 2019. fnatic letting caps go to g2, if league esports holds on for many generations, will be no1 studied mistake of how to give ur biggest rival an absolute monopoly on winning, by letting not only your star player, but also the most talented western player of all time, go to their biggest rivals. even back in 2016-17 when g2 won 3 splits, something within fnatic was rotten, but ever since season 1 they always managed to replace bad players with new, good ones. this stopped being a thing after 2020. this is no longer fnatic that won season 1 worlds, that had gone 18-0 unbeaten split, this is no longer fnatic that could reach worlds finals. this org has gotten from kings of europe to clowns of europe, here are some sad facts: 1) winter 2023 fnatic doesnt reach playoffs first time in org history 2) msi 2024 they lose bo3 to na team for the first time in org history 3) yike had won 7 splits, same number as fnatic in the entire org history god help this fkin org
