A very nice addition to your collection. The slide mounted safety is the classic model and the only one worth having.
@LLpros2 жыл бұрын
So please tell me what separates it apart from the safety only models?
@newdefsys2 жыл бұрын
@@LLpros The IWI 941 slide mounted safety/decocker (R model) is built on the original design of the Italian Tanfoglio T90, (Pre-88 series). Its an analog to the Czech CZ-75 Pre-B series and the Swiss ITM AT84S . I guess that doesn't really mean much other than its the classic, old school, version. (((They dont make them like that anymore))) And they were all heavily used in Hollywood movies back in the 80s and 90s.

@@newdefsys WOW! Thanks for telling me! You must really love the Jerichos. I can’t wait to hit the range with it, all the more better to know I’m shooting the classic design ^_^
@weezem2 жыл бұрын
All variants were made around the same time. The slide mounted frame isn't a classic, it's just the model used in a stupid anime show and grew a cult like following. Frame mounted safeties are more desirable with the Jericho's because they have better triggers and less of a chance of decocking your gun after racking the slide on top of being able to carry cocked and locked. Jericho 941 F models > Jericho 941 R models.

Thanks! Yeah I kinda wanted the full size too but I’m still very happy with this sub compact model. Still feels full size

I had one for a little while in 40 Smith and Wesson , it shot oddly high with that low front sight. Pretty accurate just high. Kinda regretting selling it now…. Maybe Ill dig one back up in 9mm 🥰 keep it man and enjoy!!!

Copy that. I haven’t shot it yet but I’ll be sure to report how it does.

There are no identification on either side of the rail..that's odd! What you have There is the Jericho 941 RS and it's just like mine but I have the name of gun on one side and the serial number on the other side.

It's not a subcompact. It's just a compact. Subcompact would imply a shorter grip. IWI only has 2 sizes for the Jericho.

Don't dry fire it w/o a snap cap! The firing pin will get damaged on those. I have a og IWI Magnum Research baby eagle, the firing pin will travel too far forward and get stuck inside the slide making it a fancy paper weight.
@LLpros2 жыл бұрын
So I did my own research and it says it’s safe to dry fire. I wonder if it’s just the Baby Eagle models?
@369motoman2 жыл бұрын
@@LLpros It says it's OK in my manual but I had to send mine in 2 years ago. The firing pin has to be custom fitted and it's a pain. I bought mine in 1995 and that's the only thing that has happened after several thousand rounds and I didn't dry fire it much. So maybe some wear and tear too? Mine is the full size-matte silver and it's still the sexiest looking gun I own! Love your vids keep up the good work!

In case anyone wants to buy one, trash the IWI magazines. They're so awful. Just buy some Mec-Gar cz75 mags. Gun is phenomenal otherwise.

Why are they trash??? I've had mine over 30 years no problems. Got my seco d Jericho 8 years ago no issues at all.
@charlesdemay41922 жыл бұрын
I was kinda SURPRISED that you are doing a video of a VARIATION of the Jericho that I just purchased at a gunshow a weekend ago. I've seen ONLY so far videos of the police trade-in and the NEW MODEL "COCKED AND LOCKED". I actually PREFER the "DECOCKER" model for 2 reasons, I like having a safety because if a criminal somehow gets my pistol there is a good possibility that he will not be able to get the pistol to operate all that QUICKLY. Most criminals are not so gun savvy as they think they are giving me a opportunity to get MY SECONDARY WEAPON whatever it maybe. My older brother who is GUN SAVVY said he saw a test where they gave a average person a pistol with the safety on and it took as much as 30 seconds for them to figure it out. So unless you are dealing with a FORMER soldier or MASTER CRIMINAL I'm sure that would hold true, besides when you watch the NEWS they are TERRIBLE SHOOTERS hitting bystanders and not who they want because I dought they PRACTICE VERY MUCH. I agree that the decocker wings allows you to rack the slide MUCH EASIER. I was surprised that you didn't mention that the rifling is POLYGONAL which makes it more accurate, higher velocity and EASIER TO CLEAN. Mine came with 2-10rd mags and one 16rd in the pistol. That wasn't THAT BAD because it takes CZ75 mags and I got 3 MEC-GAR CZ75 mags for $57 from Midway because I got them with MY BIRTHDAY DISCOUNT. (70years old). It also came with beautiful shade of blue G10 grips which I like very much. The pistol was brand new in the box and got it for $500 OTD. I shot it yesterday and "I LIKE IT". At 25' my first mag (I restrict myself to only 5rds per mag), I do this for 2 reasons. First it slows me down to be more deliberate in my shots and AMMO IS SO DAMN EXPENSIVE even though 9mm is the BEST DEAL in ammo other than 22lr. I have only 9mm and 22lr pistols because of that. Oh one exception I have a OLD COLT (1955) 357 PRE-PYTHON that I don't SHOOT much but will NEVER SELL (IT'S A REAL SHOOTER and BUTTERY SMOOTH ACTION) that I would put it up against any PYTHON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTERESTING VIDEO, BUT DON'T KNOW WHO YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THAT USED THIS PISTOL. MUST BE A GENERATION THING BUT THAT'S OK IF IT WORKS FOR YOU. I'M ALL ABOUT ACCURACY, FUNCTION AND HISTORY. 😯😁👍

Hey Mr Charles! Thank you for the detailed comment sir I think you picked up a great gun! I really enjoyed the Jericho and I’m just like you, I prefer the decocker version. Thank you again for you comment I really enjoy hearing people’s interactions with different firearms!
