I truly TRULY love and respect how when the Israelis have an issue that needs to be addressed, they turn to “thinking outside the box” while using what they already have so as to come up with new and original ways of solving problems with what’s at hand. Thus, creating whole new weapons SYSTEMS! not just 1 weapon, costs less the in over head then our equivalent, except they don’t have to pay for the R&D or Overhead in general for 3-8 other weapons while we always make sure to spend the most. Therefore their entire set (aka, Family of Weapons, aka Systems *) ends up costing a fraction of what we pay, as well as everyone else abroad too, like... Dassault, GIAT, Nexter in France, BAE in the UK, Rheinmetall in Germany, Finmachinna in Italy, where it is often an even bigger racket. Israel pays for just 1 weapon (not even gonna get into the empirical fact that everything Israel they make** is better then us]. But because after they are done creating the project (although usually they think ahead, how is that for revolutionary thinking!), they then look for those same principles, techniques, technology, factories, can be applied. And low and behold! They applied themselves 3 times, and get 10 products (3, 3 and 4). We, on the other hand, will INTENTIONALLY reread arch and redevelop the same thing over and over again. So 10 I Team means 10 overheads. And finally, the Israeli Defense Forces’s Equipment has a stunningly high amount of commonality and interchangeability at every level. not only within the category, system types, i.e. small arms, surface-to-air/air-to-air/general missiles, ground-to-ground missiles, but also among them!*** Instead of just “HEY!!! YOU!!! I said bury that problem under a Pallet of $100 bills!!! I SAID NOW!” so we can end up blowing up a used beat up $1k pickup truck with a $250-$1,000k missile. Cause god forbid we have original thoughts”. * • Python-4/5: [best short to medium AA missile on earth in terms of max G-load and off-bore sight targeting. “Over-the-shoulder-kill” capable. • Derby/Derby-ER: Medium to long range passive, semi-active, and active radar guided Air to Air missile. • SPYDER/SPYDER-MR: Point, Short, Medium, and Intermediate range Surface-to-Air missile system. Plug and play capability. ALL OF THESE WEAPONS ARE THE BY PRODUCT OF THE MODIFICATIONS OF JUST ONE MISSILE. THE PYTHON 3, Israel’s first short range HEAT SEEKING missile. • The Spike Family of ANTI-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM). 7 missiles total. NLOS: Up to 25 km ER: Up to16 km LR: Up to5.5km MR: Up to3.5km SR: Up to1.5km Mini: Up to 50m-1km Each progressively cheaper Analogous to: Hellfire: TOW/2: Javelin:. • Merkava Main Battle Tank. Nammer Heavy IFV Sholef SPG ETC... Vast amount of electronics. TAVOR small arms family. Etc... ** Since Israel gets a voucher to spend on American Weapons every year (NOT $! We never give ISRAEL MONEY!!!) By definition, it only develops its own equipment when everything they see he in the US is garbage. *** This is why Israel will often offer up their brand new state of the art technology to protect our service man (I am talking about the trophy) only to be reject and then called back 9 years later because we wasted 9 years and $2 billion dollars.

I heard most early weapons developed in Israel started from "We bought this weapon. We didn't like it as we expected. We can do it better". Later on it evolved to actuall inventions.

@@FrostedMike sort of but no. Israel Is beyond doubt the premier defense contractor for upgrades, refurbishing, and generally squeezing every last nickel worth of value out of a piece of equipment. Obviously this was because of all the boycotts. In fact I recommend reading about for they Israeli Commandos together with Mossad stole 3 missile boats from Cherbourg in France. Also the modern Kfirs (in reserve) are stolen and improved (and then upgraded) Mirage 5s.

@skyhop8 жыл бұрын
I have, and I own a regular Tavor. The one you can buy is very civilianized, lots of things have been changed to comply with various laws, so it ends up being larger and heavier than a normal Tavor. That's the primary selling point down the drain. The ergonomics aren't nearly as good because they're designed for a shorter length of pull, which laws have caused the length of pull to be increased. I like the magazine release, but aside from that, I didn't care for it at all.

AUG is still king of bullpup world in my experience. While I haven't handled weapons such as the FAMAS I've used the Tavor and AUG and the AUG was the much better rifle. The Tavor has better location for bolt release but other than that the AUG feels much higher quality and in my opinion the better rifle. That's why i picked up the AUG A3 M1, a great rifle.
@operator11928 жыл бұрын
I've used both the IWI Tavor and I have a Steyr AUG A3 also and thought I think the Tavor is a good gun and has more rail space. I still prefer that the weight of the AUG lies directly over the pistol grip which in my personal opinion makes it feel better balanced. It also feels like it's of a higher build quality. There isn't much in terms of an aftermarket for the AUG but I don't need to put all sorts of "tacticool" stuff on to shoot well.

RDB is best. MDR will probably be best once it comes out. Aug is not truly ambi without conversion and cannot use USGI mags. If you build AKs, it is really easy to build the chinese variant of AK bullpup. Handguard is just a piece of folded sheet metal, gas tube is slit and charging handle welded on. That is my personal favorite to shoot. Only cost me $600 to make too.

Thanks for the video. Please review the Indian INSAS 1B1 Assault Rifle as the reviews for this rifle is hard to come by, despite it being in service for over two decades.

Hi Larry, in regards to bullpub designs, what is you opinion on the SA80 L85A2? And any chance of a video on one? I'm curious as I am a Brit and I know our military have varied opinions on them. Love the videos keep up the good work.
